Thursday 11/3/2005: Rohan's Iseomer named Gandalf Pitcher Award
Awards may not be the most important thing for Boreathor Boraulf, but Rivendell's left-hander smiled as he was named the Shire Conference Gandalf Pitcher Award winner. His ERA of 2.01 helped him to a 22-7 record this year. He struck out 231 and walked 65 in 263.2 innings. He has 17 complete games and 7 shutouts. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! Legeron Iseomer was named the Mordor Conference Gandalf Pitcher Award winner today. Rohan's lefty put up fabulous numbers this year which earned him the highest award a pitcher can receive. Opposing players hit .187 against Legeron this season. While posting an ERA of 1.59 he went 19-5 in 34 starts, fanning 275 and walking 41 hitters. He has 9 complete games and 5 shutouts. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 3rd in wins!
 
Thursday 11/3/2005: Lómebrildur (BRE) and Eliondel (GH) win Sam Gamgee Batter
It was a day to remember for Bree's Thaira Lómebrildur, who won the Shire Conference Sam Gamgee Batter today. It put the finishing touches on what has been a tremendous season for the slugger. While compiling an on base percentage of .417, Thaira hit .326 and slugged .618. He has collected 142 runs batted in this year. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in batting, 4th in homeruns and 2nd in RBI! Grey Havens' leftfielder Isszava Eliondel had a fabulous season as well, no doubt about it. The Mordor Conference shared this opinion and names the 22 year old the Sam Gamgee Batter winner! This year Eliondel drove in 129 and scored 118 runs while batting .315 with 43 taters. He's 5th in the Mordor Conference in batting, 2nd in homeruns and 2nd in RBI!
 
Thursday 11/3/2005: Frodo Rookie Award winners announced
Getting an award is a nice way to start a career. Bree's Deagol *Fishslapper smiled as he was named the Shire Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner. This year *Fishslapper drove in 88 and scored 98 runs while batting .293 with 22 homeruns. Getting an award is a nice way to start a career. Dagorlad's Marus *Alu smiled as he was named the Mordor Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner. *Alu has hit 17 bombs this year while batting .296. He adds 23 doubles, along with 88 runs scored.
 
Saturday 10/8/2005: Mundin Elfplate (RIV) will miss 5 weeks
RIVENDELL - Rivendell's right-hander Mundin Elfplate suffered a severe injury on Saturday and will be out for at least 5 weeks. In the 1st of the game against Bucklebury he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Torn Bicep Muscle which will require surgery. Mundin has a record of 12-7 this season, with an ERA of 5.59. In 141.2 Innings he was able to strike out 159 batters.
 
Thursday 10/6/2005: Tigor Noseprodder turns in great performance against Weathertop
NUMENOR - Weathertop's bats were sleeping, and Numenor's Tigor Noseprodder gave them no chance to wake up. He gave up just 2 hits in recording his 3rd shutout of the season. 'Hey, that's my job! Everytime I take the mound I give the best I can. And my best stuff was too much for them today.' Noseprodder (15-5) fanned 6 and walked none, throwing 97 pitches. The hitting star for Numenor was third baseman Wong Trollraper, he got 2 hits in 3 AB, homering once. Numenor scored 1 run on 7 hits.
 
Thursday 10/6/2005: Geolf Febriwyn on fire, crushes three
MORIA - Geolf Febriwyn was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered Bywater to a 12-5 win over Moria by homering three times. Number 1 in the 2nd inning, a shot estimated at 434 feet, cleared the wall in right-center. In the 4th inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Haol Elephantmasher. A 364 foot drive to right field marked his 3rd bomb, a two-run homerun off Silzava Gliondir in the 8th inning. Geolf went 4 for 4, doubling once, scoring three runs and driving in 8 runs. His homerun total this year is 18, along with 66 RBI.
 
Tuesday 10/4/2005: Silvan's Alrond *DiSantolin gets the cycle
MORIA - Silvan's shortstop Alrond *DiSantolin once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Moria's pitching staff with a 4 hit performance on Tuesday. A 396 foot drive to left-center marked his 1st hit, a two-run homerun off Todd Costillo in the 1st inning. A single in the 3rd off Todd Costillo accounted for his 2nd hit. In the 5th inning he unloaded a RBI triple off Kimra Elràlith. In the 8th inning he belted a two-run double off Gollagast Filmamir. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Alrond scored one run, and he collected 5 RBI as well! His 4 hit performance increases his batting average to .227. He becomes the 8th player in league history collect at least a single, double, triple and a homerun in a single game. Zuja Tinuriand was the last player to hit for the cycle, doing it 5/25/2005.
 
Monday 10/3/2005: Orcback and Eliondel win Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bucklebury's Lugnar Orcback this time, as the centerfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Lugnar went 8 for 22 (.364), while hitting 5 HR and collecting 10 RBI. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! He has hit 31 bombs while batting .246 this season. His 140 hits and 35 walks add up to a .299 on-base percentage. It's the 2nd time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Grey Havens' leftfielder Isszava Eliondel. Eliondel helped his team with an average of .458 and 9 RBI in 24 at bats.
 
Saturday 10/1/2005: Pitcher of the Month award winners announced
The best month of September in the Shire Conference certainly had Rivendell's left-hander Boreathor Boraulf, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He went 5-0 in September and finished the month with an ERA of 1.97. He struck out 54 in 50.1 innings. Boreathor pitched a shutout as well. This season Boraulf compiled an ERA of 2.05, going 21-7 in 32 starts. He fanned 223 while giving up 182 hits in 254.2 innings. He has 16 complete games and 7 shutouts. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! Legeron Iseomer couldn't have pitched much better than he did in September, and the Mordor Conference thought so as well, naming the left-hander Pitcher of the Month. His ERA of just 0.73 helped him to a 5-0 record in September. He worked 49 innings, striking out 54 hitters while walking 5. Legeron fired two shutouts! This season Iseomer compiled an ERA of 1.63, going 18-5 in 33 starts. He fanned 266 while giving up 175 hits in 254 innings. He has 9 complete games and 5 shutouts. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 4th in wins!
 
Saturday 10/1/2005: Red hot Nilad and Eliondel win Batter of the Month award
It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Lake Town's catcher Thuralia Nilad. Thuralia was on fire, hitting .475 with 7 homeruns and 24 RBI. This year Nilad drove in 101 and scored 119 runs while batting .347 with 28 homeruns. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in batting! The Mordor Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Isszava Eliondel, Grey Havens' starting leftfielder. Isszava went 39 for 101 (.386), while hitting 8 HR and collecting 26 RBI. Eliondel has hit 39 bombs this year while batting .312. He adds 18 doubles, along with 108 runs scored. He's 7th in the Mordor Conference in batting, 2nd in homeruns and 2nd in RBI!
 
Tuesday 9/27/2005: Farin Beardsnapper dominates Lake Town, throws NO-HITTER
MORIA - Great things can happen when you throw strikes. And Farin Beardsnapper did so today, in a no-hit shutout against Lake Town. Beardsnapper (11-12) fanned 8 and walked 5, throwing 109 pitches. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches. I'm so happy that it was enough to pitch such a great game.' The hitting star for Moria was centerfielder Lumtina Elväwen, he went 1 for 4, blasting a homerun, and collecting 2 RBI. Moria scored 2 runs on 5 hits.
 
Monday 9/26/2005: Player of the Week honors go to Nilad and Bugprodder
Lake Town's catcher Thuralia Nilad had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Nilad helped his team with an average of .474 and 9 RBI in 19 at bats. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! While compiling an on base percentage of .477, Thuralia hit .341 and slugged .597. He has collected 98 runs batted in this year. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in batting! The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Erinai Bugprodder, Dol Guldur's starting catcher. Erinai was on fire, hitting .391 with 3 HR and 7 RBI. Bugprodder has walked 31 times this year and posts a .295 OBP. While batting .248, 121 for 488, he has driven in 62 runs.
 
Monday 9/19/2005: Starbasher and Armormasher win Player of the Week award
Vridash Starbasher from Lake Town wins his 2nd Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. In 18 at bats he hit .556 with 2 HR and 11 RBI. The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Isengard's Boran Armormasher this time, as the catcher displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He hit .563 with 7 RBI and slugged 1.000 in 16 at bats.
 
Friday 9/16/2005: Erunai Cleaverpunishr (CAR) will miss 6 weeks
CARROCK - When it rains, it pours. Carrock's ace Erunai Cleaverpunishr will not pitch for at least 6 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Bywater where he left the field in the 3rd inning. After being taken to a local hospital, Cleaverpunishr was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Ruptured Elbow Ligament. Opposing players hit .233 against Erunai this season. While posting an ERA of 2.90 he went 14-9 in 30 starts, fanning 162 and walking 57 hitters. He has 7 complete games and 3 shutouts.
 
Wednesday 9/14/2005: Dead Marshes' Grudgesmelter severely injured
DEAD MARSHES - Dead Marshes is without its right-hander Karin Grudgesmelter for at least 9 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Malin Brandybuck in a game against Weathertop. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Grudgesmelter was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle. Opposing players hit .219 against Karin this season. While posting an ERA of 4.16 he went 13-7 in 32 starts, fanning 128 and walking 63 hitters. He has one complete game and one shutout. He's 10th in the Mordor Conference in wins!
 
Tuesday 9/13/2005: Old Forest's Elvywyn out for 7 weeks
OLD FOREST - Old Forest's season has taken a hit after one of their best players, first baseman Myrtai Elvywyn, injured himself while rounding a base. He is likely to miss 7 weeks. After being taken to a local hospital, Elvywyn was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Strained Posterior Cruciate Ligament. Elvywyn has walked 56 times this year and posts a .326 OBP. While batting .233, 97 for 416, he has driven in 78 runs.
 
Monday 9/12/2005: Eärónduil and Elrauhil win Player of the Week award
Flortai Eärónduil wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .476 with 9 RBI and slugged 1.143 in 21 at bats. Eärónduil has hit for a .231 average this season. He has 48 extra base hits along with 220 total bases, resulting in a .427 slugging percentage. Elrealob Elrauhil wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Elrealob went 8 for 20 (.400), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 7 RBI. He has hit 22 bombs while batting .280 this season. His 140 hits and 71 walks add up to a .369 on-base percentage.
 
Thursday 9/8/2005: Frealas Fareomli turns in great performance against Gondor
DOL GULDUR - Gondor's hitters were dominated by Dol Guldur's Frealas Fareomli. He gave up just 2 hits in recording his 1st shutout of the season. 'I felt early that I was on top of my game. Fortunately I was able to keep that feeling the entire game.' Fareomli (7-14) struck out 3 and issued 2 BB, throwing 61 of 104 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Dol Guldur was third baseman Sarin Redear, he got 1 hit in 4 AB. Dol Guldur scored 2 runs on 9 hits.
 
Monday 9/5/2005: Dagorlad's Frilmer wins Player of the Week award
Arweogast Belaraviel from Lake Town wins his 4th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. In 21 at bats he hit .476 with 2 HR and 10 RBI. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dagorlad's rightfielder Galugol Frilmer. Galugol was on fire, hitting .458 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. His season numbers are: .321 AVG, 101 hits, 23 doubles, 3 triples and 13 longballs, along with 44 RBI and 59 runs scored.
 
Thursday 9/1/2005: Deneadur and Trollthrottler receive Pitcher of the Month award
The best month of August in the Shire Conference certainly had Mirkwood's right-hander Denaumir Deneadur, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He struck out 60 hitters in his 6 starts, putting together a record of 6-0 while pitching 60 innings. His ERA in August was 1.36. His ERA of 3.22 helped him to a 16-6 record this year. He struck out 251 and walked 76 in 207 innings. He's 7th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 7th in wins! Numenor's Wugush Trollthrottler had a terrific August, and it earned him the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the month award. He went 5-0 in August and finished the month with an ERA of 1.00. He struck out 22 in 36 innings. This season Trollthrottler compiled an ERA of 3.45, going 14-5 in 26 starts. He fanned 135 while giving up 132 hits in 169.2 innings. He has 3 complete games and 2 shutouts. He's 4th in the Mordor Conference in wins!
 
Thursday 9/1/2005: Glebrildur (CAR) and the Smasher (DUN) win monthly award
The Shire Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Siloja Glebrildur, Carrock's starting leftfielder. Siloja was on fire, hitting .436 with 15 homeruns and 29 RBI. His season numbers are: .331 AVG, 155 hits, 22 doubles, 3 triples and 42 longballs, along with 104 RBI and 98 runs scored. He's 6th in the Shire Conference in batting, 2nd in homeruns and 6th in RBI! The Mordor Conference's best player of the month was Dunharrow's Razrhot the Smasher, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Razrhot was on fire, hitting .302 with 7 homeruns and 26 RBI. He has hit 27 homeruns while batting .266 this season. His 90 hits and 13 walks add up to a .295 on-base percentage.
 
Monday 8/29/2005: Player of the Week honors go to Foxburr and the Smasher
Minto Foxburr from Bree wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. Minto was on fire, hitting .565 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 11 game hitting streak right now. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Dunharrow's Razrhot the Smasher, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Razrhot went 12 for 26 (.462), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 9 RBI.
 
Friday 8/26/2005: Minas Tirith has no chance in a 2-hitter by Dejahth Anylith
MINAS TIRITH - Minas Tirith's offense is struggling, and Bree's Dejahth Anylith didn't help them. The right-hander fired his 1st shutout of the season, a 2-hitter. Anylith (11-11) fanned 8 and walked none, throwing 85 pitches. 'I'll have to give a lot of credit to my catcher. He put all the right fingers down today.' Ralin Rockbinder provided Bree with the offense Anylith needed as he went 1 for 3, hitting a homerun, scoring 2 runs and collecting 3 RBI. Bree improved its record to 81-44, scoring 8 runs on 9 hits.
 
Monday 8/22/2005: Weathertop's Eowaviel wins Player of the Week award
It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Bree's second baseman Isseen Elarar. Isseen went 14 for 27 (.519), while hitting 0 HR and collecting 8 RBI. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 8 games. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Weathertop's second baseman Gamaumir Eowaviel. He had an on base percentage of .480 and hit .435, while driving in 10 runs. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now.
 
Friday 8/19/2005: Nuumsh Gnomeraper (DAG) will miss full season
DAGORLAD - Dagorlad's right-hander Nuumsh Gnomeraper experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 3rd inning of the game against Rohan, Gnomeraper complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. After being taken to a local hospital, Gnomeraper was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Ligament Elbow. In 24 starts this year Nuumsh struck out 110 batters in 163.1 innings of work. His ERA is 3.80, his record 8-8.
 
Friday 8/19/2005: Numenor's Gaum out for 7 weeks
NUMENOR - Numenor's right-hander Gollogrin Gaum suffered a severe injury on Friday and will be out for at least 7 weeks. In the 5th of the game against Dunharrow he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Torn Bicep Muscle which will require surgery. Opposing players hit .190 against Gollogrin this season. While posting an ERA of 2.17 he went 11-1 in 25 starts, fanning 96 and walking 44 hitters.
 
Monday 8/15/2005: Tunnelworker (WIL) and Legilmaldor (DAG) win P.O.W. award
The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Vusin Tunnelworker, Wilderland's starting first baseman. He hit .647 with 5 RBI and slugged 1.235 in 17 at bats. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Dagorlad's Tavlla Legilmaldor, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. He had an on base percentage of .500 and hit .471, while driving in 12 runs.
 
Monday 8/8/2005: Player of the Week honors go to Glebrildur and Orckiller
Siloja Glebrildur from Carrock wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. He had an on base percentage of .545 and hit .500, while driving in 11 runs. Mefur Orckiller wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. In 17 at bats he hit .529 with 0 HR and 6 RBI. Orckiller has hit for a .311 average this season. He has 16 extra base hits along with 67 total bases, resulting in a .496 slugging percentage.

Valin Graniteslinger wins his 2nd Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He had an on base percentage of .542 and hit .500, while driving in 13 runs. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 9 games. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! Borauman Bima from Rohan wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. Bima helped his team with an average of .381 and 9 RBI in 21 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .275, Borauman hit .233 and slugged .423. He has collected 45 runs batted in this year.
 
Monday 8/1/2005: Irontwister (WIL) and Irontearer (ROH) win monthly pitcher award
Libur Irontwister couldn't have pitched much better than he did in July, and the Shire Conference thought so as well, naming the right-hander Pitcher of the Month. His record of 5-1 in 6 was among the leagues best this month. In 44 innings of work he allowed just 40 hits while striking out 33, compiling an ERA of just 3.27. Opposing players hit .286 against Libur this season. While posting an ERA of 4.27 he went 17-7 in 27 starts, fanning 142 and walking 26 hitters. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in wins! Winner of this months Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Rohan's Libur Irontearer. He had an ERA of just 0.46 in 39 innings of work in which he struck out 28 hitters. His record in July is 4-0. Libur also fired a shutout. Opposing players hit .226 against Libur this season. While posting an ERA of 2.75 he went 8-7 in 22 starts, fanning 108 and walking 29 hitters. Libur has pitched one shutout and one complete game.
 
Monday 8/1/2005: Bree's Lómebrildur earns Batter of the Month award
Bree's rightfielder Thaira Lómebrildur had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Batter of the Month. He hit .419 with 31 RBI and slugged .763 in 93 at bats. Lómebrildur has walked 61 times this year and posts a .448 OBP. While batting .355, 139 for 392, he has driven in 101 runs. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in batting, 2nd in homeruns and 1st in RBI! Wong Trollraper of Numenor wins his 1st Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Mordor Conference. He had an on base percentage of .425 and hit .406, while driving in 17 runs. His season numbers are: .327 AVG, 90 hits, 14 doubles, one triple and 14 bombs, along with 66 RBI and 45 runs scored.
 
Monday 7/25/2005: Minas Morgul's Ringcutter wins Player of the Week award
It's the 2nd time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Wilderland's third baseman Iseolf Imreogorn. He hit .520 with 11 RBI and slugged .960 in 25 at bats. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Noisur Ringcutter, Minas Morgul's starting second baseman. Noisur was on fire, hitting .500 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. He has hit 4 bombs while batting .305 this season. His 40 hits and 13 walks add up to a .372 on-base percentage.
 
Monday 7/18/2005: Bree's Legindil wins Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bree's Tavoja Legindil this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Tavoja pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .571 with 1 HR and 4 RBI while slugging .905. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 17 games. Lanah Elril-Gandil of Dagorlad wins his 1st Player of the Week award for dominating Mordor Conference's hitters the entire week. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 1.69 while going 2-0. He hurled a shutout as well.
 
Saturday 7/16/2005: Gwelf Goriborn (MIR) will miss 4 weeks
MIRKWOOD - When it rains, it pours. Mirkwood's right-hander Gwelf Goriborn will not pitch for at least 4 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Moria where he left the field in the 8th inning. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Pulled Tricep Muscle which will require surgery. In 23 starts this year Gwelf struck out 113 batters in 158.1 innings of work. His ERA is 3.13, his record 12-6. Gwelf has pitched 2 shutouts and 4 complete games. He's 5th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 3rd in wins!
 
Friday 7/15/2005: Vral Spikekiller shuts out Isengard on 2 hits
ROHAN - With his best stuff going, Rohan's Vral Spikekiller overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. Isengard had no chance, collecting just 2 hits against the right-hander. Spikekiller (3-3) was overpowering, fanning 10 while walking none, throwing 105 pitches. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today.' Rohan's third baseman Genus Chiselsnapper finished 2 for 4, homering once, doubling once, scoring 2 runs with 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Spikekiller. Rohan improved its record to 46-43, scoring 8 runs on 12 hits.
 
Friday 7/15/2005: Grey Havens' *Starsley out for 5 weeks
GREY HAVENS - Weathertop's Togan Trollmaster drilled Grey Havens' shortstop Begrin *Starsley in the 1st inning. He was slow getting up and had to leave the game. Begrin *Starsley will miss at least 5 weeks. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Broken Hand which will require surgery. *Starsley has hit for a .281 average this season. He has 42 extra base hits along with 180 total bases, resulting in a .539 slugging percentage.
 
Monday 7/11/2005: Player of the Week honors go to Elylith and *Starsley
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Old Forest's Gamaithor Elylith this time, as the third baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Elylith helped his team with an average of .500 and 6 RBI in 16 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .389, Gamaithor hit .283 and slugged .588. GREY HAVENS - On Sunday, Grey Havens' shortstop Begrin *Starsley displayed his sensational ability to handle the bat against Dagorlad, punishing their pitchers with five hits. Number 1 in the 1st inning, a shot estimated at 413 feet, cleared the wall in left-center. Hit number 3 followed in the 4th inning, a two-run triple. He had singles in the 2nd (one RBI) , in the 6th inning and in the 7th inning . Begrin did drive in 4 while scoring 3 runs on his own. He is hitting .279 this season, with 19 HR and 57 RBI. The final score of the game was 14-5.
 
Friday 7/8/2005: Vrudish Throatcrawler blanks Dunharrow with a 1-hitter
GREY HAVENS - It was a great day for Grey Havens' right-hander Vrudish Throatcrawler. The 31-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 1-hitter, against Dunharrow on Friday. 'I was hitting my spots. Now I'll start concentrating on my next start, and hopefully it will work again.' Throatcrawler (6-5) struck out 7 and issued 1 BB, throwing 67 of 105 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Grey Havens was second baseman Arweowyn Beláwen, he went 1 for 3, hitting a homerun. The final score of the game was 4-0.
 
Monday 7/4/2005: Rockbinder (BRE) and Swordeater (DAG) win P.O.W. award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bree's Ralin Rockbinder this time, as the centerfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Rockbinder helped his team with an average of .471 and 8 RBI in 17 at bats. Vrsorbag Swordeater wins his 2nd Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .563 with 6 RBI and slugged .813 in 16 at bats.
 
Friday 7/1/2005: Mirkwood's Goriborn earns Pitcher of the Month award
The best month of June in the Shire Conference certainly had Mirkwood's right-hander Gwelf Goriborn, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. His record of 5-2 in 7 was among the leagues best this month. In 49.1 innings of work he allowed just 43 hits while striking out 30, compiling an ERA of just 2.74. Gwelf also fired a shutout. Gwelf has a record of 12-5 this season, with an ERA of 3.17. In 136.1 Innings he was able to strike out 92 batters. He has 4 complete games and 2 shutouts. He's 9th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! Prilak Hammershaker couldn't have pitched much better than he did in June, and the Mordor Conference thought so as well, naming the right-hander Pitcher of the Month. His ERA of just 0.96 helped him to a 5-0 record in June. He worked 47 innings, striking out 37 hitters while walking 6. Prilak pitched a shutout as well. This season Hammershaker compiled an ERA of 2.51, going 9-2 in 17 starts. He fanned 106 while giving up 93 hits in 122 innings. Prilak has pitched 2 shutouts and 2 complete games. He's 5th in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins!
 
Friday 7/1/2005: Red hot Eärindel and Eowöldor win Batter of the Month award
Denamir Eärindel of Lake Town wins his 1st Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Shire Conference. In 105 at bats he hit .410 with 9 HR and 36 RBI. Denamir has gone 93 for 282 (.330) this season, hitting 22 bombs and driving in 70 runs. He has scored 63 runs on his own. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in batting, 5th in homeruns and 4th in RBI! Isengard's leftfielder Gandaudur Eowöldor had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month. Eowöldor helped his team with an average of .333 and 30 RBI in 99 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .421, Gandaudur hit .291 and slugged .575. He has collected 63 runs batted in this year. He's 3rd in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 3rd in homeruns!
 
Tuesday 6/28/2005: Borun Celül blanks Bywater with a 1-hitter
BYWATER - Bywater's hitters were dominated by Lake Town's Borun Celül. He gave up just one hit in recording his 1st shutout of the season. Celül (4-7) struck out 9 and walked 2, throwing 68 of 105 pitches for strikes. 'I was hitting my spots. Now I'll start concentrating on my next start, and hopefully it will work again.' Lake Town's leftfielder Denamir Eärindel went 1 for 5, homering once, with 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Celül. The final score of the game was 7-0.

Lake Town's first baseman Arweogast Belaraviel had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Arweogast pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .536 with 4 HR and 16 RBI while slugging 1.036. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. While compiling an on base percentage of .414, Arweogast hit .315 and slugged .552. He has collected 70 runs batted in this year. He's 10th in the Shire Conference in batting and 2nd in RBI! The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Minas Morgul's Aragrin Anàr this time, as the pitcher displayed the best pitching perfomance in his league. MINAS MORGUL - Aragrin Anàr had an unexpectedly great performance against Dagorlad on Saturday, pitching a 2-hitter for his 1st shutout of the season. Anàr (4-3) fanned 6 and walked 4, throwing 122 pitches. 'That was one of the best games of my career. I had my stuff working very well today.' Mimsh Ghoulgobbler helped Anàr at the plate, he got 1 hit in 3 AB, hitting a homerun, and driving in 3 runs. The final score of the game was 5-0.

MORIA - Grikak Dryadpoker had some fun again. REAL fun. Moria hitters did not. Bywater's left-hander fired a no-hitter in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 3 career shutouts in 92 games started. 'They took some ugly cuts at my breaking stuff, so I kept throwing it. Fortunately they were not able to adjust in time.' Dryadpoker (8-4) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 4, throwing 70 of 115 pitches for strikes. Bywater's rightfielder Zudor Tinönduil stroked 3 hits in 5 AB, and driving in 2 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Dryadpoker. Bywater improved its record to 31-40, scoring 6 runs on 9 hits.
 
Monday 6/20/2005: Player of the Week honors go to Belebrindil and Hammershaker
It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Bree's shortstop Arwildoc Belebrindil. In 25 at bats he hit .400 with 2 HR and 11 RBI. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Numenor's pitcher Prilak Hammershaker. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 0.53 while going 2-0. He hurled a shutout as well. This season Hammershaker compiled an ERA of 2.83, going 7-2 in 15 starts. He fanned 94 while giving up 86 hits in 108 innings. He has 2 complete games and 2 shutouts. Saturday 6/18/2005: Pimra Gàlas pitches his 1st shutout of the season
MISTY MOUNTAIN - Misty Mountain's Pimra Gàlas overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. Dol Guldur had no chance, collecting just 2 hits against the right-hander. The bid for a no-hitter was broken up when Sarin Redear singled with one out in the 6th inning. 'I didn't feel that I had good stuff while warming up. But it got better the more I threw the ball. I guess I was lucky.' Gàlas (3-6) struck out 4 and walked 1, throwing 62 of 102 pitches for strikes. Misty Mountain's first baseman Galeoman Elvér finished with 1 hit in 2 AB, homering once, and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Gàlas. Misty Mountain improved its record to 39-31, scoring 4 runs on 5 hits.
 
Tuesday 6/14/2005: Legeron Iseomer pitches 1-hit shutout against Grey Havens
GREY HAVENS - Great days are rare. But not for Rohan's southpaw Legeron Iseomer. Grey Havens found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just one hit. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 5th time he has done it in his career. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Iseomer (7-4) struck out 9 and issued 5 BB, throwing 65 of 117 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Rohan was shortstop Posco *Sackville, he got 1 hit in 4 AB, hitting a homerun, and driving in 2 runs. Rohan improved its record to 32-34, scoring 5 runs on 7 hits.

NUMENOR - Prilak Hammershaker had some fun again. REAL fun. Dunharrow hitters did not. Numenor's right-hander fired a no-hitter in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 5 career shutouts in 59 games started. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him. He was the main reason I accomplished this feat.' Hammershaker (6-2) struck out 5 and issued 2 BB, throwing 59 of 99 pitches for strikes. Numenor's leftfielder Sarawyn Radaden got 2 hits in 3 AB, hitting a homerun. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Hammershaker. Numenor scored 2 runs on 5 hits.
 
Monday 6/13/2005: Tunnelworker (WIL) and Rockback (ROH) win P.O.W. award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Wilderland's Vusin Tunnelworker this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .536 and hit .480, while driving in 10 runs. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Rohan's Rafur Rockback, who wins the award for the 3rd time in his career. Rafur was on fire, hitting .458 with 5 HR and 13 RBI.
 
Saturday 6/11/2005: Vriurk Stargobbler quiets Misty Mountain bats with shutout
MISTY MOUNTAIN - Good things can happen when you throw strikes. And Vriurk Stargobbler did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Misty Mountain. Stargobbler (7-6) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking 4, throwing 126 pitches. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today.' Gamaumir Eowaviel helped Stargobbler at the plate, he got 3 hits in 4 AB, doubling once. Weathertop scored 5 runs on 10 hits.
 
Saturday 6/11/2005: Huli Goldtooth (BUC) will miss 5 weeks
BUCKLEBURY - Bucklebury's right-hander Huli Goldtooth suffered a severe injury on Saturday and will be out for at least 5 weeks. In the 5th of the game against Minas Tirith he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After being taken to a local hospital, Goldtooth was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Ruptured Tricep Tendon. Huli has a record of 1-8 this season, with an ERA of 6.35. In 89.1 Innings he was able to strike out 51 batters.
 
Friday 6/10/2005: Denealf Eärölas blanks Minas Tirith with a 2-hitter
MINAS TIRITH - Denealf Eärölas had an unexpectedly great performance against Minas Tirith on Friday, pitching a 2-hitter for his 1st shutout of the season. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Marin Skymallet helped Eärölas at the plate, he finished 4 for 4, stroking two 2B's, with three runs scored with 4 RBI. The final score of the game was 16-0.
 
Thursday 6/9/2005: Ludak Fleshscarer dominates Misty Mountain, gives up just 2 hits
MISTY MOUNTAIN - All you need to win is a dominating pitching performance. And Weathertop's Ludak Fleshscarer did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Misty Mountain. 'Hey, that's my job! Everytime I take the mound I give the best I can. And my best stuff was too much for them today.' Fleshscarer (2-5) struck out 5 and walked 2, throwing 63 of 108 pitches for strikes. Pimth Gäldor helped Fleshscarer at the plate, he went 2 for 4, doubling once, and driving in 2 runs. Weathertop improved its record to 21-40, scoring 5 runs on 9 hits.

The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Lake Town's Silas *Debuugger, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. He has 32 extra base hits along with 143 total bases, resulting in a .601 slugging percentage. He's 6th in the Shire Conference in batting and 8th in RBI! Wednesday 6/1/2005: Deneadur (MIR) and Bugbearripper (MM) win monthly pitcher award
Winner of this months Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Mirkwood's Denaumir Deneadur. He struck out 54 hitters in his 6 starts, putting together a record of 5-0 while pitching 54 innings. His ERA in May was 1.19. This season Deneadur compiled an ERA of 2.43, going 7-2 in 12 starts. He fanned 100 while giving up 61 hits in 85.1 innings. He's 7th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 3rd in wins! Winner of this months Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Misty Mountain's Eralak Bugbearripper. He struck out 50 hitters in his 7 starts, putting together a record of 5-1 while pitching 50 innings. His ERA in May was 2.09. This season Bugbearripper compiled an ERA of 3.50, going 7-4 in 13 starts. He fanned 77 while giving up 79 hits in 79.2 innings. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in wins!

Mirkwood's third baseman Gobur Foetooth had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Batter of the Month. Gobur went 38 for 97 (.392), while hitting 9 HR and collecting 30 RBI. Gobur is hitting .370 this year, with 71 hits in 192 at bats. He has driven in 40 runs, slugging .656. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in batting and 8th in RBI! Dagorlad's leftfielder Gamilas Eowil-Galad had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month. He had an on base percentage of .415 and hit .361, while driving in 34 runs. Gamilas is hitting .340 this year, with 67 hits in 197 at bats. He has driven in 54 runs, slugging .807. It's the 3rd time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Bywater's third baseman Thuvvia Sowyn. He had an on base percentage of .567 and hit .519, while driving in 12 runs. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! This year Sowyn drove in 27 and scored 26 runs while batting .267 with 10 bombs. Isszava Eliondel from Grey Havens wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. He hit .700 with 9 RBI and slugged 1.100 in 20 at bats. His season features a batting average of .326 (62 hits in 190 AB), 6 doubles, one triple and 9 homeruns. Eliondel collected 29 RBI and 36 runs as well. He's 8th in the Mordor Conference in batting!
 
Saturday 5/28/2005: Thuvvia Sowyn punishes Moria with five hits
MORIA - 'You know, in batting practice I didn't really feel that comfortable about my stroke today, but baseball is more than hitting. Then, when you're not trying to force a hit, you slug them in droves,' says Thuvvia Sowyn after his 5 hit game, which Bywater won 9-5 against Moria. His 1st hit, a solo homerun off Thutina Sebrirà in the 2nd inning, landed an estimated 383 feet from home plate. The game was tied, 1-1, after the blast. A pitch from Myrseen Elvyl in the 4th inning left his bat for a RBI double. His 3rd hit, a solo homerun off Kimra Elràlith in the 6th inning, cleared the fence in right field. The game was tied, 3-3, after the blast. His 4th hit was a RBI double off Areadriel Anararà in the 7th inning. A double off Saragast Peraugorn in the 9th inning accounted for his 5th hit. Thuvvia scored 3 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! He now has a total of 36 hits this season, accounting for a .257 batting average.
 
Saturday 5/28/2005: Huge blow for Moria's Sebrirà, career over
MORIA - It was one of baseball saddest days. Moria's right-hander Thutina Sebrirà fell victim to a career ending injury in a game against Bywater on Saturday. He complained about pain after throwing a pitch to Kulir Ironbender, then suddenly collapsed. Sebrirà was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Bone Chips Shoulder. In 12 starts this year Thutina struck out 33 batters in 73 innings of work. His ERA is 5.30, his record 4-6. His career featured a record of 20-27 with an ERA of 4.60. Baseball will certainly miss this great player.
 
Wednesday 5/25/2005: Gondor's Zuja Tinuriand gets the cycle
GONDOR - Zuja Tinuriand led Gondor to a 12-4 win over Isengard by squeezing four hits out of his bat. That's not the best part, though. He hit for the cycle as well! A single in the 3rd off Phaija Eowunduil accounted for his 1st hit. Hit number 2 followed in the 4th inning, a RBI triple. A 394 foot drive to right-center marked his 3rd hit, a two-run homerun off Raran Rockbreaker in the 6th inning. Number 4 in the 8th inning accounted for a RBI double. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Zuja did drive in 5 while scoring 3 runs on his own. His 4 hit performance increases his batting average to .286. He becomes the 7th player in league history collect at least a single, double, triple and a homerun in a single game. On 5/20/2005, Gufur Forgeworker was the last player to hit for the cycle.
 
Tuesday 5/24/2005: Gamilas Eowil-Galad on fire, crushes three
DAGORLAD - Gamilas Eowil-Galad was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered Dagorlad to a 7-5 win over Numenor by homering three times. Number 1 in the 1st inning, a shot estimated at 423 feet, cleared the wall in right-center. His 2nd blast, a two-run homerun off Boriagol Boreborn in the 7th inning, landed an estimated 416 feet from home plate. His 3rd shot, a two-run homerun off Issseen Elénduil in the 11th inning, cleared the fence in left-center. His final homerun proved to be the game winner as well! Gamilas went 4 for 6, doubling once, with three runs scored and collecting 6 RBI.
 
Monday 5/23/2005: Dunharrow's *Nazgul severely injured
DUNHARROW - Dunharrow's centerfielder Theodore *Nazgul hurt himself in the 2nd inning while diving for a batted ball. He got up slowly and had to leave the game. Theodore *Nazgul will miss at least 6-7 weeks. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Fractured Hand. Surgery will be performed next week. Theodore is hitting .326 this year, with 58 hits in 178 at bats. He has driven in 37 runs, slugging .646. He's 6th in the Mordor Conference in batting, 3rd in homeruns and 6th in RBI!

This year Glóthien drove in 30 and scored 45 runs while batting .330 with 6 taters. He's 4th in the Mordor Conference in batting!

Friday 5/20/2005: Gufur Forgeworker stars with cycle against Old Forest
OLD FOREST - Wilderland's catcher Gufur Forgeworker accomplished a difficult feat in a game against Old Forest, hitting for the cycle to improve his career batting average to .259! In the 3rd inning he unloaded a triple off Boriam Celebrin. A single in the 6th off Boriam Celebrin accounted for his 2nd hit. His 3rd hit was a double off Boriam Celebrin in the 8th inning. A pitch from Farigol Elril-Galith in the 10th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 443 feet from home plate in center field. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Gufur did drive in one while scoring one run on his own. His 4 hit performance increases his batting average to .271. He's now the 6th player in league history to hit for the cycle! On 9/27/2004, Sarawyn Radaden was the last player to hit for the cycle.

DOL GULDUR - Numenor's right-hander Prilak Hammershaker is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Dol Guldur on just 2 hits. It's his 1st shutout this season, and the 4th time he has done it in his career. Hammershaker (4-1) showed excellent control, walking nobody and fanning 7. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Meroman Legeolbo provided Numenor with the offense Hammershaker needed as he collected 2 hits in 5 trips to the plate, homering once, and driving in 3 runs. Numenor improved its record to 23-13, scoring 7 runs on 9 hits.

BYWATER - Bywater's Gorolbo Gollialf suffered a serious injury Sunday in a game against Lake Town. Gollialf fell down while running the bases and couldn't get up without help. He will miss probably 4-5 weeks. Bywater wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Gollialf had suffered a Torn Groin Muscle. Gollialf has hit one longball this year while batting .310. He adds 10 doubles, along with 8 runs scored.
 
Sunday 5/1/2005: Ban Arwodur (MIR) will miss 5 weeks
MIRKWOOD - Mirkwood's left-hander Ban Arwodur suffered a severe injury on Sunday and will be out for at least 5 weeks. In the 2nd of the game against Carrock he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Strained Bicep Muscle. Surgery will be performed next week. Ban has a record of 2-1 this season, with an ERA of 4.33. In 35.1 Innings he was able to strike out 26 batters.
 
Sunday 5/1/2005: Bywater's Dryadpoker earns Pitcher of the Month award
Bywater's Grikak Dryadpoker had a terrific April, and it earned him the Shire Conference Pitcher of the month award. His ERA of just 1.02 helped him to a 5-1 record in April. He worked 44 innings, striking out 50 hitters while walking 12. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award goes to Isengard's pitcher Vrsirbag Sunjuggler. He started 7 games in April, going 6-0 and compiling an ERA of 1.02 in 44.1 innings. Vrsirbag fanned 54 hitters.
 
Sunday 5/1/2005: Isengard's Galadrienduil named Batter of the Month
The Shire Conference's best player of the month was Bree's Thaira Lómebrildur, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. He hit .392 with 27 RBI and slugged .763 in 97 at bats. Isengard's shortstop Golloron Galadrienduil had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month. He hit .408 with 12 RBI and slugged .663 in 98 at bats.
 
Wednesday 4/27/2005: Roran Shieldmover punishes Lake Town with three dingers
LAKE TOWN - Roran Shieldmover was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered Minas Tirith to a 7-1 win over Lake Town by homering three times. His 1st shot, off Boraimli Bilas in the 1st inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in center field. His 2nd blast, a solo homerun off Boraimli Bilas in the 3rd inning, landed an estimated 419 feet from home plate. A pitch from Culak Balldrinker in the 5th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 389 feet from home plate in right field. Overall he stroked 3 hits in 4 AB, with three runs scored with 4 RBI. In 1225 career at bats, he has hit 83 homeruns and collected 238 RBI. Phantina Föriand was the last player to hit 3 homeruns in a game, doing it 7/21/2004.
 
Tuesday 4/26/2005: Old Forest's Legithraviel out for 4-5 weeks
OLD FOREST - Old Forest is without its ace Tavus Legithraviel for at least 4-5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Lumtina Elväwen in a game against Moria. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Spasms Back. His ERA of 6.53 helped him to a 1-3 record this year. He struck out 23 and walked 6 in 30.1 innings.
 
Monday 4/25/2005: Boraulf (RIV) and Leguden (DAG) win P.O.W. award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Rivendell's Boreathor Boraulf this time, as the pitcher displayed the best pitching perfomance in his league. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 0.53 while going 2-0. He hurled a shutout as well. Moraudoc Leguden wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. In 18 at bats he hit .444 with 3 HR and 10 RBI.
 
Tuesday 4/19/2005: Bywater has no chance in a 2-hitter by Boriam Celebrin
BYWATER - It was a great day for Old Forest's right-hander Boriam Celebrin. The 22-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Bywater on Tuesday. 'I had a good grip on the ball today and I was able to put it where I wanted. That kept them out of balance.' Celebrin (3-0) was really unbelievable, striking out 16 and walking 1, throwing 71 of 103 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Old Forest was second baseman Sorthor Guviel, he collected 5 hits in 6 trips to the plate, hitting FOUR doubles, scoring FOUR times and collecting 3 RBI. The final score of the game was 14-0.
 
Monday 4/18/2005: Player of the Week honors go to Almeida and Ironmaster
Juan Almeida wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .480 with 11 RBI and slugged 1.160 in 25 at bats. Almeida has hit 5 bombs this year while batting .333. He adds 6 doubles, along with 8 runs scored. He's 7th in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 8th in homeruns! The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Dead Marshes' Lasil Ironmaster this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .576 and hit .517, while driving in 9 runs.
 
Tuesday 4/12/2005: Guuruk Earthslicer quiets Minas Morgul bats with shutout
MINAS MORGUL - Guuruk Earthslicer had his best stuff going, and Minas Morgul hitters had nothing to cheer about. Misty Mountain's southpaw pitched a 2-hitter, his 1st shutout of the season. Earthslicer (2-0) was overpowering, fanning 10 while walking 1, throwing 103 pitches. 'I was hitting my spots. Now I'll start concentrating on my next start, and hopefully it will work again.' Misty Mountain's catcher Bodash Armslasher collected 1 hit in 4 trips to the plate. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Earthslicer. Misty Mountain improved its record to 5-5, scoring 1 run on 7 hits.
 
Monday 4/11/2005: Rockbinder (BRE) and *Nazgul (DUN) win P.O.W. award
Ralin Rockbinder wins his 3rd Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .478 with 16 RBI and slugged 1.478 in 23 at bats. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dunharrow's centerfielder Theodore *Nazgul. Theodore was on fire, hitting .440 with 3 HR and 7 RBI.
 
Thursday 4/7/2005: Aragorn Anänd (MM) will miss 8-9 weeks
MISTY MOUNTAIN - When it rains, it pours. Misty Mountain's right-hander Aragorn Anänd will not pitch for at least 8-9 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Dead Marshes where he left the field in the 2nd inning. Misty Mountain wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Anänd had suffered a Torn Tricep Muscle.
