Monday 11/7/2006: Gandalf Pitcher Award winners announced Awards may not be the most important thing for Boreathor Boraulf, but Rivendell's left-hander smiled as he was named the Shire Conference Gandalf Pitcher Award winner. This season Boraulf compiled an ERA of 2.21, going 22-9 in 35 starts. He fanned 255 while giving up 232 hits in 281 innings. Boreathor has pitched 6 shutouts and 14 complete games. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! Boraulf wins the award for the 2nd time in his 11-year career. Numenor's right-hander Prilak Hammershaker was untouchable all year long. His work paid off today as the Mordor Conference named him the Gandalf Pitcher Award winner! This season Hammershaker compiled an ERA of 2.56, going 25-5 in 38 starts. Monday 11/7/2006: Imrilron (OF) and Elfprodder (MM) win Sam Gamgee Batter The Sam Gamgee Batter in the Shire Conference was handed to Old Forest's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron! While compiling an on base percentage of .408, Isilborn hit .338 and slugged .644. He has collected 131 runs batted in this year. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 4th in RBI! Imrilron wins the award for the 2nd time in his 8-year career. Misty Mountain's rightfielder Hudash Elfprodder will never forget this day as well. A great season convinced the voters that he is the worthy Mordor Conference Sam Gamgee Batter winner. Elfprodder has hit 40 homeruns this year while batting .302. He adds 28 doubles, along with 92 runs scored. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 3rd in homeruns! |
Monday 11/7/2006: Old Forest's *Hubbard earns Frodo Rookie Award Getting an award is a nice way to start a career. Old Forest's Elrond *Hubbard smiled as he was named the Shire Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner. *Hubbard has hit 45 taters this year while batting .260. He adds 37 doubles, along with 116 runs scored. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 2nd in homeruns! Hudash Elfprodder will never forget his first full season. The Mordor Conference was convinced that Misty Mountain's rightfielder, 22 years old, should be the Frodo Rookie Award winner of 2006. Hudash has gone 181 for 600 (.302) this season, hitting 40 homeruns and driving in 140 runs. He has scored 92 runs on his own. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 3rd in homeruns! |
Monday 10/10/2006: Player of the Week honors go to *Mawaan and Eowil-Galad Scarlett *Mawaan from Bucklebury wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. He hit .545 with 2 RBI and slugged .864 in 22 at bats. Gamilas Eowil-Galad wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Gamilas pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .429 with 4 HR and 9 RBI while slugging 1.095. His season numbers are: .262 AVG, 158 hits, 39 doubles, one triple and 54 bombs, along with 135 RBI and 105 runs scored. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 1st in homeruns! |
Tuesday 10/4/2006: Wugush Trollthrottler turns in great performance against Isengard ISENGARD - Wugush Trollthrottler had his best stuff going, and Isengard hitters had nothing to cheer about. Numenor's right-hander pitched a 1-hitter, his 1st shutout of the season. Trollthrottler (13-8) struck out 3 and issued 3 BB, throwing 58 of 96 pitches for strikes. 'Pitching a great game is always a good thing. And it doesn't get much better than today.' Numenor's third baseman Wong Trollraper collected 4 hits in 5 trips to the plate, blasting a homerun, and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Trollthrottler. The final score of the game was 6-0. |
Monday 10/3/2006: Moria has no chance in a 2-hitter by Dejahth Anylith MORIA - Bree's right-hander Dejahth Anylith is clearly one of the best pitchers in the game. Moria found out the hard way, getting just 2 hits. Anylith 5th shutout this season was a masterpiece, as he was almost untouchable. He has now hurled 7th shutouts in his career. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Anylith (19-9) fanned 9 and walked 1, throwing 106 pitches. Ralin Rockbinder helped Anylith at the plate, he stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, doubling once, scoring twice. Bree improved its record to 100-58, scoring 7 runs on 8 hits. |
Monday 10/3/2006: Delkathor (GDL) and Gadrielas (ISE) win P.O.W. award Jusef Delkathor from Gondolin wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. He had an on base percentage of .550 and hit .556, while driving in 10 runs. His season features a batting average of .274 (113 hits in 413 AB), 17 doubles, one triple and 16 longballs. Delkathor collected 63 RBI and 57 runs as well. Pimja Gadrielas wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Saturday 10/1/2006: Noseprodder (RIV) and Footstomper (ISE) win monthly pitcher award Rivendell's Tigor Noseprodder had a terrific September, and it earned him the Shire Conference Pitcher of the month award. He started 6 games in September, going 5-1 and compiling an ERA of 0.55 in 49.1 innings. Tigor fanned 30 hitters. Tigor got two complete game shutouts as well! This season Noseprodder compiled an ERA of 2.54, going 15-8 in 31 starts. He fanned 133 while giving up 191 hits in 223 innings. He has 9 complete games and 4 shutouts. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in ERA and 9th in wins! The best month of September in the Mordor Conference certainly had Isengard's right-hander Maggek Footstomper, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He had an ERA of just 0.80 in 33.2 innings of work in which he struck out 30 hitters. His record in September is 3-1. Maggek has a record of 10-9 this season, with an ERA of 2.32. In 213 Innings he was able to strike out 229 batters. |
Saturday 10/1/2006: *Squishmasher (RIV) and Elfprodder (MM) win monthly award It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Rivendell's third baseman Loopy *Squishmasher. Loopy pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .446 with 8 and 26 RBI while slugging .804. *Squishmasher has walked 106 times this year and posts a .438 OBP. While batting .330, 184 for 557, he has driven in 96 runs. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in batting! It's the 2nd time that the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Misty Mountain's rightfielder Hudash Elfprodder. Elfprodder helped his team with an average of .327 and 38 RBI in 101 at bats. His season numbers are: .305 AVG, 177 hits, 27 doubles, 2 triples and 39 homeruns, along with 138 RBI and 90 runs scored. Thursday 9/22/2006: Drogo Gamwich parks three against Gondor MINAS MORGUL - Minas Morgul beat Gondor 8-1, but that was not the real story of the game. Drogo Gamwich was, as he went deep three times. His 1st blast, a solo homerun off Siloja Glebriril in the 1st inning, landed an estimated 351 feet from home plate. A 381 foot drive to left field marked his 2nd bomb, a solo homerun off Siloja Glebriril in the 3rd inning. In the 5th inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Siloja Glebriril. Drogo stroked 4 hits in 5 AB, scoring three runs and collecting 3 RBI. |
Tuesday 9/20/2006: Noibur Ringbinder dominates Moria, gives up just 2 hits MORIA - Rivendell's right-hander Noibur Ringbinder will never forget this day. The 33-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Moria on Tuesday. Ringbinder (13-8) fanned 4 and walked 2, throwing 104 pitches. 'Today I just felt fine. I had a good feeling while warming up.' Thurzava Sáng helped Ringbinder at the plate, he got 2 hits in 5 AB, and collecting 2 RBI. Rivendell improved its record to 82-65, scoring 4 runs on 12 hits. |

Monday 9/12/2006: Player of the Week honors go to *Squishmasher and Derroeater It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Rivendell's third baseman Loopy *Squishmasher. *Squishmasher helped his team with an average of .550 and 12 RBI in 20 at bats. Loopy managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. *Squishmasher has hit for a .324 average this season. He has 58 extra base hits along with 263 total bases, resulting in a .529 slugging percentage. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in batting! It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dagorlad's pitcher Franak Derroeater. Franak went 2-0 with an ERA of 1.06, while fanning 19 in 17 innings of work. He hurled a shutout as well. In 28 starts this year Franak struck out 146 batters in 185 innings of work. His ERA is 2.97, his record 10-11. He has 4 complete games and 3 shutouts. |
Sunday 9/11/2006: Lake Town's Grailas out for 5-6 weeks LAKE TOWN - Lake Town is without its left-hander Gwomer Grailas for at least 5-6 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Pruurag Heartthrower in a game against Bywater. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Lake Town wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Grailas had suffered a Strained Rotator Cuff Muscle. Gwomer has a record of 14-8 this season, with an ERA of 3.19. In 189 Innings he was able to strike out 100 batters. He has 3 complete games and one shutout. |
Wednesday 9/7/2006: Minas Morgul has no chance in a NO-HITTER by Dolok Bonemangler MINAS MORGUL - Numenor's left-hander Dolok Bonemangler is a really great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff while making history, blanking Minas Morgul on no hits. Bonemangler (19-5) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 4, throwing 71 of 122 pitches for strikes. 'They took some ugly cuts at my breaking stuff, so I kept throwing it. Fortunately they were not able to adjust in time.' Numenor's first baseman Imredoc Gwildur went 2 for 3, homering once, with 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Bonemangler. The final score of the game was 3-0. |
Wednesday 9/7/2006: Gwelf Goriborn pitches 2-hit shutout against Bucklebury BUCKLEBURY - All you need to win is a dominating pitching performance. And Mirkwood's Gwelf Goriborn did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Bucklebury. 'That was one of the best games of my career. I had my stuff working very well today.' Goriborn (14-6) struck out 9 and walked 2, throwing 74 of 116 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Mirkwood was third baseman Gobur Foetooth, he finished 2 for 6, doubling once, and driving in 4 runs. Mirkwood improved its record to 84-52, scoring 12 runs on 19 hits. |
Tuesday 9/6/2006: Vriurk Stargobbler out for 5 weeks WEATHERTOP - Weathertop is without its right-hander Vriurk Stargobbler for at least 5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Tavoja Legindil in a game against Dunharrow. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Spasms Back. Surgery will be performed next week. In 32 starts this year Vriurk struck out 151 batters in 197 innings of work. Monday 9/5/2006: Rockbinder (BRE) and Toothkicker (ROH) win P.O.W. award The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bree's Ralin Rockbinder this time, as the centerfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Ralin pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .435 with 5 HR and 8 RBI while slugging 1.130. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Wilo Toothkicker, Rohan's starting centerfielder. In 16 at bats he hit .500 with 3 HR and 5 RBI. While compiling an on base percentage of .238, Wilo hit .215 and slugged .424. He has collected 24 runs batted in this year. |
Saturday 9/3/2006: Geadriel Gamialf dominates Lake Town, gives up just 2 hits LAKE TOWN - Lake Town's bats were sleeping, and Mirkwood's Geadriel Gamialf gave them no chance to wake up. He gave up just 2 hits in recording his 2nd shutout of the season. 'I'll have to give a lot of credit to my catcher. He put all the right fingers down today.' Gamialf (10-5) struck out 6 and issued 2 BB, throwing 62 of 100 pitches for strikes. Galaigast Faromli provided Mirkwood with the offense Gamialf needed as he stroked 3 hits in 4 AB, stroking two 2B's. Mirkwood scored 1 run on 6 hits. |
Saturday 9/3/2006: Elrond *Hubbard hits for the cycle against Carrock OLD FOREST - Old Forest's rightfielder Elrond *Hubbard accomplished a difficult feat in a game against Carrock, hitting for the cycle to improve his career batting average to .268! A single in the 1st off Tigseen Tal accounted for his 1st hit. In the 2nd inning he unloaded a three-run homerun off Tigseen Tal. His 3rd hit was a RBI triple off Soia Glithran in the 3rd inning. A double off Tathor Legŕldur in the 5th inning accounted for his 4th hit. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Elrond scored 2 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! He now has a total of 126 hits this season, accounting for a .268 batting average. He's now the 13th player in league history to hit for the cycle! Thursday 9/1/2006: Noseprodder and Bonemangler receive Pitcher of the Month award The best month of August in the Shire Conference certainly had Rivendell's right-hander Tigor Noseprodder, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. His ERA of just 1.76 helped him to a 5-1 record in August. He worked 51 innings, striking out 28 hitters while walking 4. Tigor also fired a shutout. In 25 starts this year Tigor struck out 103 batters in 173.2 innings of work. His ERA is 3.11, his record 10-7. Tigor has pitched 2 shutouts and 6 complete games. The best month of August in the Mordor Conference certainly had Numenor's southpaw Dolok Bonemangler, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. Seathor pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .330 with 9 and 25 RBI while slugging .680. This year Radithor drove in 89 and scored 77 runs while batting .245 with 25 taters. Grey Havens' second baseman Arweowyn Beláwen had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month. Gabzog managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Grey Havens' Vrudish Throatcrawler, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. Throatcrawler was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 1.00. Along the way he struck out 10 in 18 innings. He hurled a shutout as well. |
Thursday 8/25/2006: Nasil Oresplitter fires 1-hitter against Weathertop DEAD MARSHES - Dead Marshes' Nasil Oresplitter overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. Weathertop had no chance, collecting just one hit against the southpaw. Oresplitter (10-9) was really unbelievable, striking out 16 and walking 2, throwing 73 of 117 pitches for strikes. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Lasil Ironmaster provided Dead Marshes with the offense Oresplitter needed as he finished with 2 hits in 4 AB, hitting a homerun. Tuesday 8/23/2006: Rohan's Trollprodder severely injured ROHAN - When it rains, it pours. Rohan's left-hander Wonai Trollprodder will not pitch for at least 4 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Isengard where he left the field in the 3rd inning. Ruptured Tricep Tendon was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. This season Trollprodder compiled an ERA of 3.90, going 8-13 in 27 starts. He fanned 142 while giving up 165 hits in 166 innings. |

He adds 18 doubles, along with 77 runs scored. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 8th in homeruns! The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Numenor's Theo *Nering this time, as the shortstop displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Theo was on fire, hitting .435 with 3 HR and 12 RBI. This year *Nering drove in 92 and scored 69 runs while batting .275 with 21 taters. |

Radithor helped his team with an average of .400 and 8 RBI in 25 at bats. This year Radithor drove in 76 and scored 63 runs while batting .235 with 20 bombs. Grey Havens' pitcher Vrudish Throatcrawler had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Player of the Week. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 1.80 while going 2-0. He hurled a shutout as well. |
Wednesday 8/10/2006: Seathor Radithor collects five hits against Minas Tirith MINAS TIRITH - Seathor Radithor saw the ball really well, leading Wilderland to a 13-6 win over Minas Tirith. His five hits thrilled his teammates and coaches, and Seathor seemed happy as well after the game. Number 2 in the 4th inning, a shot estimated at 390 feet, cleared the wall in left field. A triple off Borulf Celorfilad in the 9th inning, accounted for his 5th hit. He collected singles in the 1st (one RBI) , in the 6th (one RBI) and in the 7th (one RBI). Seathor did drive in 5 while scoring 3 runs on his own. His 5 hit performance increases his batting average to .232. |
Wednesday 8/10/2006: Old Forest's Elrond *Hubbard has great day, hits three longballs OLD FOREST - Hitting a homerun is fine, but hitting three of them in one game is something special. Old Forest's rightfielder Elrond *Hubbard accomplished that feat in a 9-6 win over Rivendell. In the 3rd inning he unloaded a three-run homerun off Hagor Earthsmasher. That one tied it at 4 runs apiece. A 474 foot drive to right field marked his 2nd bomb, a solo homerun off Hagor Earthsmasher in the 5th inning. His 3rd shot, a three-run homerun off Srik Liverdicer in the 7th inning, cleared the fence in left field. Overall he went 3 for 4, scoring three runs and collecting 7 RBI. So far this season he is batting .267 with 33 homers and 101 RBI. |

He collapsed in pain and was helped off the field. *Orithil will probaby miss 4-5 weeks. Herniated Disc Back was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. This year *Orithil drove in 63 and scored 73 runs while batting .287 with 18 bombs. |

A double off Eralak Bugbearripper in the 2nd inning accounted for his 1st hit. Number 3 in the 6th inning accounted for a double. In the 7th inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Vamsh Ratchewer. Number 5 in the 8th inning accounted for a double. He collected a single in the 4th. Dolir scored 2 runs, and he collected 2 RBI as well! Monday 7/25/2006: Eärindel and Legindil win Player of the Week award Lake Town's rightfielder Denamir Eärindel had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Sunday 7/24/2006: Rohan's Badgerpoker out for full season ROHAN - Rohan's centerfielder Ciurk Badgerpoker suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself diving for a ball. He collapsed in pain and was helped off the field. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Broken Foot which will require surgery. His season numbers are: .325 AVG, 110 hits, 25 doubles, 3 triples and 18 homeruns, along with 61 RBI and 59 runs scored. He's 5th in the Mordor Conference in batting! |
Sunday 7/24/2006: Gothor Gollind ropes four hits, completes cycle LAKE TOWN - Lake Town's leftfielder Gothor Gollind accomplished a difficult feat in a game against Bree, hitting for the cycle to improve his career batting average to .277! A pitch from Zuthor Toviel in the 2nd inning left his bat for a RBI triple. It tied the ballgame at 2. A single in the 3rd off Zuthor Toviel accounted for his 2nd hit. A pitch from Dejatok Belebrildur in the 5th inning left his bat for a two-run double. A 394 foot drive to right field marked his 4th hit, a solo homerun off Dejatok Belebrildur in the 7th inning. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Gothor scored one run, and he collected 5 RBI as well! His 4 hit performance increases his batting average to .277. He becomes the 12th player in league history collect at least a single, double, triple and a homerun in a single game. On 7/6/2006, Siloja Glebrildur was the last player to hit for the cycle. |
Monday 7/18/2006: Mirkwood's Gamialf severely injured MIRKWOOD - Mirkwood is without its right-hander Geadriel Gamialf for at least 5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Randy Gustafson in a game against Carrock. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Gamialf was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Torn Bicep Muscle. Monday 7/18/2006: Carrock's *Rider wins Player of the Week award Carrock's second baseman Trik *Rider had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. *Rider helped his team with an average of .652 and 5 RBI in 23 at bats. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 14 game hitting streak right now. Trik is hitting .327 this year, with 116 hits in 355 at bats. He has driven in 51 runs, slugging .485. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in batting! Freodriel Elrymbor of Gondor wins his 1st Player of the Week award for dominating Mordor Conference's hitters the entire week. Saturday 7/16/2006: Dunharrow has no chance in a 2-hitter by Freodriel Elrymbor GONDOR - Freodriel Elrymbor had his best stuff going, and Dunharrow hitters had nothing to cheer about. Gondor's right-hander pitched a 2-hitter, his 1st shutout of the season. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Elrymbor (10-4) fanned 4 and walked 3, throwing 102 pitches. Golleolf Fón provided Gondor with the offense Elrymbor needed as he got 1 hit in 3 AB, homering once, scoring 2 runs. Gondor improved its record to 47-43, scoring 5 runs on 5 hits. |
Friday 7/15/2006: Dagorlad's *Alu out for 5 weeks DAGORLAD - Dagorlad's season has taken a hit after one of their best players, shortstop Marus *Alu, injured himself while rounding a base. Monday 7/11/2006: Dol Guldur has no chance in a 2-hitter by Dolok Bonemangler DOL GULDUR - All you need to win is a dominating pitching performance. And Numenor's Dolok Bonemangler did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Dol Guldur. 'Today I just felt fine. I had a good feeling while warming up.' Bonemangler (10-5) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking 1, throwing 97 pitches. Numenor's shortstop Theo *Nering collected 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate, hitting a double. Sunday 7/10/2006: Gobur Foetooth clubs five hits in a game RIVENDELL - Gobur Foetooth is among the best pure hitters in the game, but his 5 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself. Wednesday 7/6/2006: Siloja Glebrildur punishes Bucklebury with four hits, cycle CARROCK - Siloja Glebrildur hits 'em where they ain't. Bucklebury certainly agrees as Carrock's leftfielder unloaded four hits and hitting for the cycle. His 1st hit, a two-run homerun off Issth Elilmalad in the 1st inning, cleared the fence in left field. His 2nd hit was a RBI double off Issth Elilmalad in the 6th inning. A single in the 8th off Sourk Legripper accounted for his 3rd hit. His 4th hit was a triple off Imrohil Haleogast in the 10th inning. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Friday 7/1/2006: Grey Havens' Footcrawler named Pitcher of the Month Rivendell's Boreathor Boraulf had a terrific June, and it earned him the Shire Conference Pitcher of the month award. His record of 3-2 in 5 was among the leagues best this month. In 42.2 innings of work he allowed just 30 hits while striking out 48, compiling an ERA of just 1.90. Boreathor fired THREE shutouts! Opposing players hit .217 against Boreathor this season. While posting an ERA of 2.19 he went 9-4 in 16 starts, fanning 129 and walking 20 hitters. He has 6 complete games and 4 shutouts. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 3rd in wins! It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award goes to Grey Havens' pitcher Luudrak Footcrawler. His ERA of just 1.38 helped him to a 5-1 record in June. He worked 45.2 innings, striking out 28 hitters while walking 8. In 17 starts this year Luudrak struck out 74 batters in 113 innings of work. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Gŕlas will miss about 5-6 weeks. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Broken Hand which will require surgery. In 18 starts this year Pimra struck out 79 batters in 107 innings of work. His ERA is 5.13, his record 3-9. |

Then, when you're not trying to force a hit, you slug them in droves,' says Kobur Hammermaker after his 5 hit game, which Bree won 11-10 against Lake Town. Saturday 6/4/2006: Sordor Glóthien (DM) will miss full season DEAD MARSHES - Dead Marshes' shortstop Sordor Glóthien suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself firing a ball to first base. He collapsed in pain after the throw and was helped off the field. Dead Marshes wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Glóthien had suffered a Bone Chips Shoulder. This year Glóthien drove in 39 and scored 33 runs while batting .346 with 6 bombs. Monday 5/30/2006: Imrilron (WIL) and *Starsley (GH) win P.O.W. award Wilderland's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Imrilron helped his team with an average of .600 and 7 RBI in 20 at bats. Imrilron has walked 26 times this year and posts a .471 OBP. While batting .397, 77 for 194, he has driven in 43 runs. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 2nd in RBI! Grey Havens' shortstop Begrin *Starsley had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Player of the Week. Sunday 5/29/2006: Ralin Rockbinder hits for the cycle against Old Forest BREE - Ralin Rockbinder is a pretty good hitter, but his 4 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself considering that the hits added up to the cycle, one of the most difficult things to accomplish in baseball. A single in the 2nd off Frodo Chubb accounted for his 1st hit. A RBI double off Frodo Chubb in the 3rd inning accounted for his 2nd hit. His 3rd hit, a two-run homerun off Denealf Eärölas in the 7th inning, landed an estimated 436 feet from home plate. In the 8th inning he unloaded a RBI triple off Denealf Eärölas. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Ralin did drive in 5 while scoring 3 runs on his own. That's not the best part, though. He hit for the cycle as well! A RBI triple off Isthor Elóldor in the 3rd inning, accounted for his 1st hit. In the 4th inning he belted a RBI double off Deivi Abadia. A single in the 6th off Deivi Abadia accounted for his 3rd hit. Number 4 in the 8th inning, a shot estimated at 335 feet, cleared the wall in right field. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Begrin scored 3 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! Elruden Elraralindë was, as he went deep three times. In the 2nd inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Eralak Bugbearripper. A 360 foot drive to right field marked his 2nd bomb, a solo homerun off Eralak Bugbearripper in the 7th inning. Tuesday 5/24/2006: Mauhur *the Looter out for full season DEAD MARSHES - Dead Marshes' second baseman Mauhur *the Looter suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself firing a ball to first base. He collapsed in pain after the throw and was helped off the field. Ruptured Disc Back was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. He has hit 6 bombs while batting .313 this season. His 60 hits and 12 walks add up to a .350 on-base percentage. |
Monday 5/23/2006: Carrock's Rockcrusher wins Player of the Week award The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Carrock's Rasin Rockcrusher this time, as the third baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Rasin pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .412 with 5 HR and 12 RBI while slugging .912. Rockcrusher has walked 11 times this year and posts a .245 OBP. While batting .203, 39 for 192, he has driven in 29 runs. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Sordor Glóthien, Dead Marshes' starting shortstop. Sunday 5/22/2006: Numenor's Meroman Legeolbo laces five hits NUMENOR - Numenor's second baseman Meroman Legeolbo once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Isengard's pitching staff with a 5 hit performance on Sunday. His 2nd hit was a double off Hildibrand Bridger in the 2nd inning. Number 3 in the 5th inning accounted for a double. His 4th hit, a two-run homerun off Delmer Turner in the 7th inning, cleared the fence in left-center. A pitch from Delmer Turner in the 8th inning left his bat for a double. He collected a single in the 1st. Meroman scored 5 runs, and he collected 2 RBI as well! Bucklebury certainly agrees as Carrock's first baseman unloaded five hits, adding to his reputation of being one of the best pure hitters in the game. A double off Radiden Morolf in the 2nd inning accounted for his 1st hit. His 3rd hit was a two-run double off Radiden Morolf in the 5th inning. His 4th hit, off Sourk Legripper in the 6th inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in right field. His 5th hit, a solo homerun off Sourk Legripper in the 8th inning, landed an estimated 368 feet from home plate. He collected a single in the 4th. Hafur scored 3 runs, and he collected 6 RBI as well! Saturday 5/21/2006: Vrudish Throatcrawler quiets Misty Mountain bats with shutout GREY HAVENS - All you need to win is a dominating pitching performance. And Grey Havens' Vrudish Throatcrawler did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Misty Mountain. Hudash Elfprodder spoiled the bid for a no-hitter when he doubled with no outs in the 5th inning. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Throatcrawler (3-4) showed excellent control, walking nobody and fanning 7. Grey Havens' third baseman Grukak Dwarfcrawler stroked 4 hits in 4 AB, going deep twice, doubling once, scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Throatcrawler. Grey Havens improved its record to 24-21, scoring 7 runs on 10 hits. |
Monday 5/16/2006: Grey Havens' Fiwyn severely injured GREY HAVENS - Grey Havens' ace Phanth Fiwyn experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 2nd inning of the game against Numenor, Fiwyn complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. After being taken to a local hospital, Fiwyn was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Back Muscle. His ERA of 3.94 helped him to a 2-2 record this year. He struck out 43 and walked 12 in 61.2 innings. Phanth has pitched one shutout and one complete game. |

Lómebrildur collected 34 RBI and 37 runs as well. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 1st in homeruns! Sunday 5/15/2006: Grey Havens' Banks severely injured GREY HAVENS - Grey Havens' players were scared when they had to watch Anson Banks suffer a serious injury when he dove for a ball in the game against Numenor. He collapsed in pain and was helped off the field. Banks will probaby miss 11 weeks. Banks was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Fractured Hip. Banks has hit for a .353 average this season. He has 11 extra base hits along with 63 total bases, resulting in a .463 slugging percentage. Saturday 5/7/2006: Prilak Hammershaker blanks Dol Guldur with a 2-hitter NUMENOR - Great days are rare. But not for Numenor's right-hander Prilak Hammershaker. Dol Guldur found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just 2 hits. It's his 1st shutout this season, and the 8th time he has done it in his career. 'I felt early that I was on top of my game. Fortunately I was able to keep that feeling the entire game.' Hammershaker (5-2) struck out 7 and walked 1, throwing 66 of 112 pitches for strikes. Theo *Nering helped Hammershaker at the plate, he collected 2 hits in 5 trips to the plate, blasting a homerun, scoring 2 runs and collecting 4 RBI. Numenor scored 13 runs on 16 hits. |

Sunday 5/1/2006: Bree's Arwodur earns Pitcher of the Month award Winner of this months Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Bree's Ban Arwodur. He struck out 27 hitters in his 7 starts, putting together a record of 7-0 while pitching 27 innings. His ERA in April was 2.95. Rohan's Dejria Celŕldor had a terrific April, and it earned him the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the month award. His ERA of just 1.12 helped him to a 5-0 record in April. He worked 40.1 innings, striking out 30 hitters while walking 18. Dejria also fired a shutout. |

Misty Mountain's rightfielder Hudash Elfprodder had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month. Monday 4/25/2006: Drowslammer (GDL) and Elvér (MM) win P.O.W. award The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Gogak Drowslammer, one of Gondolin's best starting pitchers. Drowslammer was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 2.16. Along the way he struck out 15 in 16.2 innings. He hurled a shutout as well. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Galeoman Elvér, Misty Mountain's starting first baseman. Galeoman was on fire, hitting .533 with 2 HR and 9 RBI. |
Sunday 4/24/2006: Weathertop's Stargobbler out for 4-5 weeks WEATHERTOP - Weathertop is without its ace Vriurk Stargobbler for at least 4-5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Meroman Legeolbo in a game against Numenor. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Pulled Bicep Muscle. Surgery will be performed next week. This season Stargobbler compiled an ERA of 5.04, going 2-2 in 6 starts. He fanned 28 while giving up 29 hits in 30.1 innings. |
Sunday 4/24/2006: Maeglin *Elensar fires 1-hitter against Dunharrow DUNHARROW - Maeglin *Elensar had an unexpectedly great performance against Dunharrow on Sunday, pitching a 1-hitter for his 3rd shutout of the season. 'I hit the corners with all of my pitches. That helped a lot!' *Elensar (3-1) struck out 9 and issued 1 BB, throwing 67 of 98 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Minas Morgul was rightfielder Kadish Ettinripper, he finished with 2 hits in 4 AB, homering once, scoring twice and driving in 2 runs. Minas Morgul scored 4 runs on 6 hits. |
Sunday 4/24/2006: Gogak Drowslammer dominates Bucklebury, gives up just one hit BUCKLEBURY - Gondolin's Gogak Drowslammer overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. Bucklebury had no chance, collecting just one hit against the right-hander. Drowslammer (2-0) was overpowering, fanning 10 while walking 2, throwing 107 pitches. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today.' Gondolin's third baseman Joseph Delk finished 2 for 5, blasting a homerun, hitting a double, scoring two runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Drowslammer. Saturday 4/23/2006: Gandaugrin Gamaiborn (BUC) will miss full season BUCKLEBURY - Bucklebury's first baseman Gandaugrin Gamaiborn will miss the rest of the season. He injured himself running the bases in the game between Bucklebury and Gondolin. The injury didn't seem to be serious the moment it happened. But suddenly Gamaiborn collapsed in pain and had to be carried off the field. After being taken to a local hospital, Gamaiborn was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Calf Muscle. Gandaugrin has gone 20 for 62 (.323) this season, hitting 5 bombs and driving in 11 runs. He has scored 11 runs on his own. |

Irontwister (2-2) struck out 7 and issued 1 BB, throwing 64 of 106 pitches for strikes. Iseolf Imreogorn helped Irontwister at the plate, he collected 3 hits in 4 trips to the plate, doubling three times, and driving in 5 runs. The final score of the game was 7-0. |

Dead Marshes' right-hander Karin Grudgesmelter fell victim to a career ending injury in a game against Numenor on Tuesday. He complained about pain after throwing a pitch to Gruugor Earchewer, then suddenly collapsed. Torn Tricep Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. His career featured a record of 43-32 with an ERA of 4.24. Baseball will certainly miss this great player. |
