Friday 10/28/2010: Lothlorien's Cloudskin named Gandalf Pitcher Award All the hard work finally paid off for Old Forest's Frodo Chubb. The southpaw was named the Gandalf Pitcher Award winner in the Shire Conference today. In 34 starts this year Frodo struck out 250 batters in 254.2 innings of work. His ERA is 2.58, his record 18-6. He has 6 complete games and 4 shutouts. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 3rd in wins! The Mordor Conference Gandalf Pitcher Award winner was announced today as well, with Lothlorien's right-hander Gimli Cloudskin taking home the desired trophy. He certainly earned it, he struck fear into hitters all year long. Opposing players hit .205 against Gimli this season. While posting an ERA of 2.92 he went 21-10 in 37 starts, fanning 332 and walking 35 hitters. He has 2 complete games and 2 shutouts. He's 6th in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! |
Friday 10/28/2010: Sam Gamgee Batter winners announced Lake Town's shortstop Silas *Debuugger had a fabulous season, no doubt about it. The Shire Conference shared this opinion and names the 31 year old the Sam Gamgee Batter winner! *Debuugger has hit for a .305 average this season. He has 85 extra base hits along with 354 total bases, resulting in a .590 slugging percentage. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 2nd in homeruns! The 2010 Mordor Conference Sam Gamgee Batter winner has been announced as well. It's Minas Morgul's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron who really had a great offensive year. His season features a batting average of .303 (171 hits in 565 AB), 21 doubles, 2 triples and 50 homeruns. Imrilron collected 124 RBI and 119 runs as well. He's 10th in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI! Imrilron wins the award for the 6th time in his 12-year career. |
Friday 10/28/2010: Isengard's Green named Frodo Rookie Award The 2010 Shire Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner is from Mirkwood this season. Elendil Melwasul put together impressive numbers for a rookie en route to win the first major award of his career. Let's hope more will follow for this 26 year old ballplayer. Melwasul has walked 36 times this year and posts a .349 OBP. While batting .293, 132 for 451, he has driven in 56 runs. Getting an award is a nice way to start a career. Isengard's David Green smiled as he was named the Mordor Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner. In 32 starts this year David struck out 142 batters in 188.1 innings of work. His ERA is 4.16, his record 13-10. David has pitched one shutout and one complete game. |
Friday 10/7/2010: Hallalonn Brilhirion blanks Lake Town with a 2-hitter MIRKWOOD - Hallalonn Brilhirion took the mound and never left. And Lake Town hitters couldn't touch him at all. Mirkwood's right-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 2 career shutouts in 98 games started. Sprig Swordsmith spoiled the bid for a no-hitter when he singled with no outs in the 6th inning. Brilhirion (18-11) fanned 8 and walked 1, throwing 111 pitches. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Mirkwood's shortstop Thauthor Smeand stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, blasting a homerun, and driving in 3 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Brilhirion. Mirkwood scored 4 runs on 8 hits. |
Saturday 10/1/2010: Pitcher of the Month award winners announced Rivendell's pitcher Mundin Elfplate is the Shire Conference winner of the Pitcher of the Month award in September. He started 6 games in September, going 3-1 and compiling an ERA of 1.00 in 45 innings. Mundin fanned 39 hitters. In 32 starts this year Mundin struck out 259 batters in 224 innings of work. His ERA is 2.69, his record 14-7. Winner of this months Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Grey Havens' Glosil Foerender. He started 6 games in September, going 5-0 and compiling an ERA of 1.58 in 40 innings. Glosil fanned 32 hitters. Glosil also fired a shutout. This season Foerender compiled an ERA of 2.79, going 11-6 in 31 starts. He fanned 143 while giving up 144 hits in 183.2 innings. He has one complete game and one shutout. |
Saturday 10/1/2010: Batter of the Month award winners announced The Batter of the Month award in the Shire Conference goes to Old Forest's Hudash Elfprodder this time, as the leftfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .347 and hit .307, while driving in 24 runs. His season numbers are: .251 AVG, 143 hits, 37 doubles, 3 triples and 36 bombs, along with 95 RBI and 94 runs scored. The Mordor Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Buffy *Balrog Slayer, Misty Mountain's starting first baseman. *Balrog Slayer helped his team with an average of .376 and 24 RBI in 101 at bats. His season features a batting average of .307 (138 hits in 450 AB), 2 doubles, no triples and 15 bombs. *Balrog Slayer collected 66 RBI and 54 runs as well. |
Friday 9/30/2010: Bucklebury has no chance in a 2-hitter by Halleron Troublemaker BREE - Bree's southpaw Halleron Troublemaker will never forget this day. The 27-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Bucklebury on Friday. 'I was hitting my spots. Now I'll start concentrating on my next start, and hopefully it will work again.' Troublemaker (2-6) struck out 8 and walked 1, throwing 60 of 100 pitches for strikes. Bork Beavercleaver provided Bree with the offense Troublemaker needed as he stroked 3 hits in 4 AB, doubling once, scoring two runs. The final score of the game was 7-0. |
Thursday 9/29/2010: Bywater's Vorzava Tinond has great day, hits three longballs BYWATER - Vorzava Tinond was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered Bywater to a 5-4 win over Lake Town by homering three times. In the 1st inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Gomli Forgedelver. Number 2 in the 10th inning, a shot estimated at 390 feet, cleared the wall in left-center. The game was tied, 4-4, after the blast. A pitch from Kenneth Gault in the 15th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 454 feet from home plate in right field. That one even won the game for his team! Overall he finished with 4 hits in 7 AB, with three runs scored and collecting 5 RBI. In 4022 career at bats, he has hit 242 homeruns and collected 750 RBI. |
Tuesday 9/27/2010: Koprak Facestomper fires NO-NO against Old Forest RIVENDELL - Koprak Facestomper had his best stuff going, and Old Forest hitters were chanceless. Rivendell's right-hander fired a NO-NO, his 1st shutout of the season. Cinquefoil Boartooth spoiled the bid for a perfect game when he walked with 2 away in the 5th inning. Facestomper (12-15) struck out 9 and issued 2 BB, throwing 74 of 124 pitches for strikes. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today. That's a dream coming true for me!' The hitting star for Rivendell was leftfielder Halauman Greoman, he finished with 3 hits in 5 AB. Rivendell scored 9 runs on 13 hits. |
Monday 9/26/2010: Grey Havens' Brickfist wins Player of the Week award Bucklebury's leftfielder Samwise Peatfingers had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Peatfingers helped his team with an average of .474 and 9 RBI in 19 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .388, Samwise hit .315 and slugged .581. He has collected 121 runs batted in this year. He's 7th in the Shire Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI! Bror Brickfist wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Bror went 10 for 21 (.476), while hitting 2 HR and collecting 5 RBI. Brickfist has hit for a .267 average this season. He has 23 extra base hits along with 121 total bases, resulting in a .443 slugging percentage. |
Monday 9/19/2010: Player of the Week honors go to Gāril and Hearteater The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Bywater's Savia Gāril, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. Savia pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .632 with 1 HR and 4 RBI while slugging 1.053. Pruugor Hearteater from Dol Guldur wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. Pruugor pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .619 with 1 HR and 4 RBI while slugging .952. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 14 games. Monday 9/12/2010: Chubb (OF) and Aenoa (MM) win P.O.W. award It's the 2nd time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Old Forest's pitcher Frodo Chubb. Chubb was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 2.25. Along the way he struck out 13 in 16 innings. Frodo has a record of 16-5 this season, with an ERA of 2.57. In 224.1 Innings he was able to strike out 222 batters. Frodo has pitched 3 shutouts and 5 complete games. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! Saturday 9/10/2010: Thudor Nadrierion punishes Dagorlad with three dingers DAGORLAD - Rohan beat Dagorlad 9-2, but that was not the real story of the game. Thudor Nadrierion was, as he went deep three times. His 1st shot, off Franak Clubslicer in the 4th inning, was a solo homerun and cleared the fence in left field. It tied the ballgame at 1. A 359 foot drive to right field marked his 2nd bomb, a three-run homerun off Disin Axesmith in the 7th inning. His 3rd shot, a two-run homerun off Tavalia Legāriand in the 9th inning, cleared the fence in left field. Thudor went 3 for 5, scoring three runs and driving in 6 runs. In 3288 career at bats, he has hit 145 homeruns and collected 528 RBI. |

Friday 9/2/2010: Gwomer Grailas blanks Isengard with a 2-hitter ISENGARD - Misty Mountain's left-hander Gwomer Grailas is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Isengard on just 2 hits. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 9th time he has done it in his career. 'That was one of the best games of my career. I had my stuff working very well today.' Grailas (18-4) fanned 7 and walked 1, throwing 110 pitches. The hitting star for Misty Mountain was centerfielder Saravin Darkbrother, he finished with 4 hits in 5 AB, doubling once, scoring two runs. Misty Mountain scored 5 runs on 12 hits. |
Thursday 9/1/2010: Spinner (BYW) and Grailas (MM) win monthly pitcher award Bywater's pitcher Bugrin Spinner is the Shire Conference winner of the Pitcher of the Month award in August. He had an ERA of just 1.57 in 46 innings of work in which he struck out 40 hitters. His record in August is 5-1. Bugrin has a record of 17-7 this season, with an ERA of 2.73. In 181.1 Innings he was able to strike out 160 batters. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! It's the 4th time that the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award goes to Misty Mountain's pitcher Gwomer Grailas. Tuesday 8/30/2010: Dunharrow's Stoneteeth severely injured DUNHARROW - Dunharrow's season has taken a hit after one of their best players, centerfielder Bofur Stoneteeth, injured himself while rounding a base. He is likely to miss 4-5 weeks. Stoneteeth was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Inflamed Groin Muscle. Bofur is hitting .263 this year, with 129 hits in 490 at bats. He has driven in 69 runs, slugging .435. |
Monday 8/29/2010: Goragol (CAR) and Novathien (MM) win P.O.W. award The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Carrock's Greogrin Goragol, who wins the award for the 5th time in his career. He hit .409 with 5 RBI and slugged .955 in 22 at bats. He has hit 16 bombs while batting .244 this season. His 87 hits and 50 walks add up to a .340 on-base percentage. His 2nd shot, off Tiran Beardstroker in the 4th inning, was a solo homerun and cleared the fence in right field. Number 3 in the 7th inning, a shot estimated at 392 feet, cleared the wall in right field. Hafur got 4 hits in 4 AB, stroking a double, with three runs scored and driving in 3 runs. Tuesday 8/23/2010: Trik *Rider out for 5 weeks CARROCK - Carrock's second baseman Trik *Rider will miss about 5 weeks after he hurt himself badly in the 5th inning of the game between Carrock and Gondolin. He fielded a ball off the bat of Jusef Delkathor, threw a bullet to first and immediately signaled that he's not OK. Inflamed Rotator Cuff Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. *Rider has walked 54 times this year and posts a .419 OBP. While batting .341, 149 for 437, he has driven in 63 runs. Monday 8/22/2010: Mirkwood's Melwasul wins Player of the Week award The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Mirkwood's Elendil Melwasul this time, as the rightfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .636 and hit .632, while driving in 6 runs. Melwasul has walked 27 times this year and posts a .345 OBP. While batting .291, 98 for 337, he has driven in 43 runs. Anson Banks wins his 2nd Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Friday 8/19/2010: Gondolin's Ruzag out for 5 weeks GONDOLIN - When it rains, it pours. Gondolin's right-hander Kar Ruzag will not pitch for at least 5 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Minas Tirith where he left the field in the 3rd inning. After being taken to a local hospital, Ruzag was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle. In 23 starts this year Kar struck out 79 batters in 133 innings of work. His ERA is 4.60, his record 8-9. |
Monday 8/15/2010: Player of the Week honors go to Graniteslinger and Imrilron Valin Graniteslinger wins his 9th Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .393 with 12 RBI and slugged .857 in 28 at bats. It's the 15th time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Minas Morgul's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron. Isilborn went 10 for 24 (.417), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 10 RBI. Isilborn managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. |
Monday 8/8/2010: Lothlorien's the Smasher wins Player of the Week award It's the 2nd time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Mirkwood's second baseman Mohair *Catsquisher. Mohair was on fire, hitting .455 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Razrhot the Smasher, Lothlorien's starting first baseman. Razrhot pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .471 with 3 HR and 5 RBI while slugging 1.000. He has hit 23 longballs while batting .277 this season. His 114 hits and 36 walks add up to a .336 on-base percentage. He's 4th in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 5th in homeruns! |
Friday 8/5/2010: Galealbo Elvāwen pitches 1-hit shutout against Dead Marshes MINAS MORGUL - Great days are rare. But not for Minas Morgul's left-hander Galealbo Elvāwen. Dead Marshes found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just one hit. It's his 3rd shutout this season, and the 5th time he has done it in his career. 'I didn't feel that I had good stuff while warming up. But it got better the more I threw the ball. I guess I was lucky.' Elvāwen (16-4) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 1, throwing 70 of 108 pitches for strikes. Phaitina Fandir helped Elvāwen at the plate, he got 2 hits in 4 AB, homering once, with 4 RBI. The final score of the game was 7-0. |
Wednesday 8/3/2010: Vorzava Tinond (BYW) will miss 5 weeks BYWATER - Bywater's centerfielder Vorzava Tinond hurt himself in the 1st inning while diving for a batted ball. He got up slowly and had to leave the game. Vorzava Tinond will miss at least 5 weeks. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Fractured Hip. Tinond has hit 18 taters this year while batting .170. He adds 10 doubles, along with 56 runs scored. |
Monday 8/1/2010: *Elfheim (MT) and Elvāwen (MIN) win monthly pitcher award Reaver *Elfheim couldn't have pitched much better than he did in July, and the Shire Conference thought so as well, naming the left-hander Pitcher of the Month. He went 4-1 in July and finished the month with an ERA of 1.45. He struck out 30 in 43.1 innings. Reaver has a record of 12-8 this season, with an ERA of 3.01. In 167.1 Innings he was able to strike out 123 batters. He's 6th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! Minas Morgul's Galealbo Elvāwen had a terrific July, and it earned him the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the month award. His ERA of just 1.89 helped him to a 4-1 record in July. He worked 38 innings, striking out 28 hitters while walking 4. Galealbo also fired a shutout. His ERA of 2.65 helped him to a 15-4 record this year. He struck out 145 and walked 21 in 156.1 innings. Galealbo has pitched 2 shutouts and 3 complete games. He's 4th in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! |

The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Lothlorien's Grumpus *the Grumpest, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. Grumpus pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .517 with 2 HR and 8 RBI while slugging .724. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 8 game hitting streak right now. *the Grumpest has hit for a .290 average this season. He has 33 extra base hits along with 193 total bases, resulting in a .504 slugging percentage. |

He hit .409 with 10 RBI and slugged 1.227 in 22 at bats. His season numbers are: .248 AVG, 71 hits, 12 doubles, 4 triples and 21 bombs, along with 59 RBI and 61 runs scored. Roran Shieldmover from Weathertop wins his 2nd Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. Roran went 10 for 27 (.370), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 7 RBI. |
Sunday 7/24/2010: Minas Tirith's Anvilworker severely injured MINAS TIRITH - Minas Tirith's first baseman Binus Anvilworker will miss at least 5 weeks after he got hurt seriously while running hard toward second base. He began limping and then fell down, causing a scary moment for his teammates. He had to be carried off the field. Minas Tirith wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Anvilworker had suffered a Pulled Achilles Tendon. His season features a batting average of .263 (95 hits in 361 AB), 21 doubles, 3 triples and 24 bombs. Anvilworker collected 70 RBI and 64 runs as well. He's 7th in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 4th in homeruns! |
Tuesday 7/19/2010: Rohan's Antslammer out for 5 weeks ROHAN - When it rains, it pours. Rohan's southpaw Andrack Antslammer will not pitch for at least 5 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Minas Tirith where he left the field in the 6th inning. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Bone Chips Shoulder which will require surgery. Opposing players hit .237 against Andrack this season. While posting an ERA of 3.01 he went 10-6 in 21 starts, fanning 121 and walking 42 hitters. He's 10th in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 4th in wins! |
Monday 7/18/2010: Sarkor Galuwyn ropes four hits, completes cycle LOTHLORIEN - Sarkor Galuwyn led Lothlorien to a 17-1 win over Gondolin by squeezing four hits out of his bat. That's not the best part, though. He hit for the cycle as well! A pitch from Paul Fite in the 3rd inning left his bat for a double. His 2nd hit was a RBI triple off Paul Fite in the 4th inning. A single in the 7th off Rocco Dwarftosser accounted for his 3rd hit. A 416 foot drive to center field marked his 4th hit, a two-run homerun off Grimag the Insane in the 8th inning. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Sarkor did drive in 5 while scoring 5 runs on his own. He now has a total of 71 hits this season, accounting for a .284 batting average. He becomes the 23rd player in league history collect at least a single, double, triple and a homerun in a single game. On 8/9/2009, Eond Elruborn was the last player to hit for the cycle. |

Ulaf Silverglove from Rohan wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. Monday 7/11/2010: Lothlorien's Cloudskin wins Player of the Week award Wilderland's second baseman Mim Marblerage had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Mim went 8 for 22 (.364), while hitting 4 HR and collecting 8 RBI. He has hit 16 taters while batting .287 this season. His 95 hits and 20 walks add up to a .332 on-base percentage. Gimli Cloudskin of Lothlorien wins his 2nd Player of the Week award for dominating Mordor Conference's hitters the entire week. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 0.55 while going 2-0. Sunday 7/10/2010: Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron slams three taters CARROCK - Minas Morgul beat Carrock 12-0, but that was not the real story of the game. Isilborn Imrilron was, as he went deep three times. His 1st shot, off Berilac Boffin in the 1st inning, was a solo homerun and cleared the fence in left field. A 416 foot drive to left-center marked his 2nd bomb, a solo homerun off Berilac Boffin in the 3rd inning. His 3rd blast, a solo homerun off Berilac Boffin in the 5th inning, landed an estimated 429 feet from home plate. Isilborn stroked 4 hits in 5 AB, scoring FOUR runs and driving in 3 runs. |
Sunday 7/10/2010: Gimli Cloudskin pitches his 2nd shutout of the season RIVENDELL - Lothlorien's right-hander Gimli Cloudskin is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Rivendell on just 2 hits. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 2nd time he has done it in his career. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Cloudskin (12-4) struck out an astounding 13 and walked none, throwing 70 of 107 pitches for strikes. Hamson Muddyfoot provided Lothlorien with the offense Cloudskin needed as he finished with 1 hit in 3 AB, blasting a homerun. The final score of the game was 2-0. |
Saturday 7/9/2010: Olorin *Orithil collects five hits against Carrock CARROCK - Olorin *Orithil is among the best pure hitters in the game, but his 5 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself. A 422 foot drive to center field marked his 1st hit, a two-run homerun off Fufur Caverntearer in the 1st inning. His 2nd hit, off Fufur Caverntearer in the 2nd inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in left field. A double off Dalo Bloodkiller in the 5th inning accounted for his 3rd hit. He collected singles in the 6th inning and in the 7th inning (one RBI). Olorin did drive in 5 while scoring 3 runs on his own. He's having a very good season so far, batting .313. Isengard improved its record to 35-54, scoring 14 runs on 17 hits. |
Monday 7/4/2010: Underhill (MIR) and Rethiel (ISE) win P.O.W. award The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Mirkwood's Odovacar Underhill this time, as the third baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. In 19 at bats he hit .579 with 2 HR and 8 RBI. Maltame Rethiel wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Maltame was on fire, hitting .529 with 4 HR and 6 RBI. His season features a batting average of .293 (80 hits in 273 AB), 16 doubles, no triples and 15 longballs. Rethiel collected 52 RBI and 33 runs as well. |
Friday 7/1/2010: Chubb and Long Cleve receive Pitcher of the Month award The best month of June in the Shire Conference certainly had Old Forest's lefty Frodo Chubb, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He had an ERA of just 0.49 in 55.2 innings of work in which he struck out 59 hitters. His record in June is 6-0. Frodo got two complete game shutouts as well! His ERA of 2.68 helped him to a 9-5 record this year. He struck out 148 and walked 35 in 144.1 innings. Frodo has pitched 2 shutouts and 4 complete games. He's 5th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award goes to Grey Havens' pitcher Born Long Cleve. His record of 3-0 in 4 was among the leagues best this month. In 23.2 innings of work he allowed just 15 hits while striking out 23, compiling an ERA of just 1.14. This season Long Cleve compiled an ERA of 2.26, going 7-4 in 15 starts. He fanned 79 while giving up 74 hits in 95.2 innings. Born has pitched one shutout and 2 complete games. |
Friday 7/1/2010: Rivendell's *Squishmasher earns Batter of the Month award The Shire Conference's best player of the month was Rivendell's Loopy *Squishmasher, who wins the award for the 4th time in his career. He had an on base percentage of .466 and hit .426, while driving in 28 runs. Loopy has gone 109 for 293 (.372) this season, hitting 21 longballs and driving in 69 runs. He has scored 52 runs on his own. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in batting, 6th in homeruns and 1st in RBI! It's the 3rd time that the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Grey Havens' first baseman Golligast Gandulbo. In 86 at bats he hit .360 with 6 HR and 24 RBI. Tuesday 6/28/2010: Carrock has no chance in a 2-hitter by Lolok Fleshbasher LAKE TOWN - It was a great day for Lake Town's right-hander Lolok Fleshbasher. The 29-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Carrock on Tuesday. The bid for a no-hitter was broken up when Uujjeen Maker singled with one out in the 6th inning. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today.' Fleshbasher (1-0) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking none, throwing 101 pitches. Lake Town's third baseman Silla Glārion finished 3 for 3, blasting a homerun, with 3 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Fleshbasher. The final score of the game was 8-0. |

The 25-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Minas Tirith on Saturday. *II (8-3) struck out 7 and issued 1 BB, throwing 54 of 86 pitches for strikes. 'I'll have to give a lot of credit to my catcher. He put all the right fingers down today.' Tuesday 6/21/2010: Ciurk Badgerpoker out for 8 weeks ROHAN - Being hit with a pitch is no fun at all. Especially when you get injured. Rohan's centerfielder Ciurk Badgerpoker will miss about 8 weeks after being hit by Dolok Bonemangler in the 4th inning of the game between Rohan and Numenor. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Broken Cheekbone. This year Badgerpoker drove in 42 and scored 49 runs while batting .273 with 15 longballs. |
Monday 6/20/2010: Musiceye (WIL) and Mansmasher (MM) win P.O.W. award The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Wilderland's Lintegurth Musiceye this time, as the pitcher displayed the best pitching perfomance in his league. Musiceye was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 1.50. Along the way he struck out 6 in 18 innings. He hurled a shutout as well. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Sruukor Mansmasher, Misty Mountain's starting centerfielder. Sruukor was on fire, hitting .579 with 2 HR and 7 RBI. Thursday 6/16/2010: Old Forest's Cheeseslicer out for 7 weeks OLD FOREST - Old Forest is without its right-hander Sjors Cheeseslicer for at least 7 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Grimli Goramir in a game against Minas Tirith. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Old Forest wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Cheeseslicer had suffered a Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle. Sjors has a record of 7-5 this season, with an ERA of 4.01. In 116.2 Innings he was able to strike out 89 batters. He's 5th in the Shire Conference in wins! |
Monday 6/13/2010: Isszava Eliondel collects five hits against Dunharrow GREY HAVENS - Isszava Eliondel is among the best pure hitters in the game, but his 5 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself. Number 1 in the 1st inning accounted for a RBI double. A pitch from Boreathor Boraulf in the 4th inning left his bat for a two-run homerun, landing 424 feet from home plate in right-center. In the 5th of the game against Dunharrow he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Ruptured Tricep Tendon was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. His ERA of 2.37 helped him to a 6-1 record this year. He struck out 69 and walked 15 in 79.2 innings. He has one complete game and one shutout. Sunday 5/1/2010: Numenor's Bonemangler named Pitcher of the Month Torg Shinsnapper pitched like a legend in April, and the Shire Conference named him Pitcher of the Month for his extraordinary performance. He struck out 44 hitters in his 6 starts, putting together a record of 5-1 while pitching 44 innings. His ERA in April was 1.60. Dolok Bonemangler couldn't have pitched much better than he did in April, and the Mordor Conference thought so as well, naming the left-hander Pitcher of the Month. His ERA of just 0.98 helped him to a 4-1 record in April. He worked 46 innings, striking out 47 hitters while walking 6. |

Thursday 4/28/2010: Huge blow for Misty Mountain's *Stinkblossom, career over MISTY MOUNTAIN - It was one of baseball saddest days. Misty Mountain's left-hander Tanta *Stinkblossom fell victim to a career ending injury in a game against Dead Marshes on Thursday. He complained about pain after throwing a pitch to Wayne Phillips, then suddenly collapsed. Misty Mountain wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that *Stinkblossom had suffered a Torn Bicep Muscle. Opposing players hit .278 against Tanta this season. While posting an ERA of 4.76 he went 1-0 in 6 starts, fanning 37 and walking 8 hitters. His career featured a record of 69-47 with an ERA of 3.34. Baseball will certainly miss this great player. |
Tuesday 4/26/2010: Grey Havens' Dwarfcrawler out for the season GREY HAVENS - Grey Havens' third baseman Grukak Dwarfcrawler will miss the rest of the season. He injured himself running the bases in the game between Grey Havens and Misty Mountain. The injury didn't seem to be serious the moment it happened. But suddenly Dwarfcrawler collapsed in pain and had to be carried off the field. Dwarfcrawler was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Broken Ankle. His season numbers are: .227 AVG, 17 hits, 4 doubles, no triples and 3 longballs, along with 11 RBI and 8 runs scored. |
Monday 4/25/2010: It's NO-NO time for Vrsol Swordbasher against Bucklebury BREE - Bree's right-hander Vrsol Swordbasher made some history today, firing a no-hitter against Bucklebury. Their hitters found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, never having a chance against his overpowering stuff. Swordbasher (4-1) fanned 9 and walked 3, throwing 94 pitches. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches. I'm so happy that it was enough to pitch such a great game.' Arwildoc Belebrindil provided Bree with the offense Swordbasher needed as he stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, stroking a double, with 2 RBI. The final score of the game was 3-0. |

Wednesday 4/20/2010: Minas Morgul's Eartrembler out for 5 weeks MINAS MORGUL - Minas Morgul is without its right-hander Hagush Eartrembler for at least 5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Inadora Tovar in a game against Rohan. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Spasms Back. Surgery will be performed next week. This season Eartrembler compiled an ERA of 2.08, going 2-0 in 4 starts. He fanned 17 while giving up 16 hits in 26 innings. |
Monday 4/18/2010: Born Long Cleve pitches his 1st shutout of the season GREY HAVENS - It was a great day for Grey Havens' left-hander Born Long Cleve. The 26-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 1-hitter, against Weathertop on Monday. 'Today I just felt fine. I had a good feeling while warming up.' Long Cleve (2-1) fanned 6 and walked 2, throwing 99 pitches. Golligast Gandulbo helped Long Cleve at the plate, he stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, blasting a homerun, with 3 RBI. The final score of the game was 5-0. |
Monday 4/18/2010: Dead Marshes' Elvywyn wins Player of the Week award The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Relin Rockmaster, Old Forest's starting designated hitter. In 23 at bats he hit .565 with 3 HR and 6 RBI. It's the 5th time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dead Marshes' first baseman Myrtai Elvywyn. Myrtai pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .353 with 4 HR and 10 RBI while slugging 1.118. |
Tuesday 4/12/2010: Relin Rockmaster slams 3 HR OLD FOREST - Hitting a homerun is fine, but hitting three of them in one game is something special. Old Forest's designated hitter Relin Rockmaster accomplished that feat in a 4-1 win over Moria. A 408 foot drive to center field marked his 1st bomb, a solo homerun off Bagdreg the Hated in the 1st inning. That one tied it at 1 runs apiece. His 2nd shot, a solo homerun off Bagdreg the Hated in the 5th inning, cleared the fence in right field. Number 3 in the 8th inning, a shot estimated at 443 feet, cleared the wall in center field. Overall he got 4 hits in 4 AB, with three runs scored and collecting 3 RBI. So far this season he is batting .326 with 3 homers and 11 RBI. On 9/30/2009, Vorzava Tinond was the last player to hit 3 dingers in a single game. |
Monday 4/11/2010: Gāril and Solomon win Player of the Week award Savia Gāril wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. In 29 at bats he hit .483 with 1 HR and 5 RBI. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dunharrow's third baseman David Solomon. David pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .393 with 4 HR and 8 RBI while slugging .929. His season numbers are: .300 AVG, 12 hits, 3 doubles, no triples and 4 longballs, along with 8 RBI and 7 runs scored. He's 8th in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 2nd in homeruns! |
Sunday 4/10/2010: Ralin Rockbinder socks five hits for Lake Town WILDERLAND - Lake Town's centerfielder Ralin Rockbinder once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Wilderland's pitching staff with a 5 hit performance on Sunday. In the 3rd inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Sady the Insane. It tied the ballgame at 1. Number 3 in the 6th inning, a shot estimated at 404 feet, cleared the wall in left-center. His 5th hit was a three-run triple off Ricky the Brown in the 7th inning. He collected singles in the 5th inning and in the 6th (one RBI). Ralin did drive in 9 while scoring 4 runs on his own. He's having a very good season so far, batting .318. Lake Town scored 17 runs on 25 hits. |
Wednesday 4/6/2010: Lothlorien's AnlaShok Valen has great day with six hits WEATHERTOP - AnlaShok Valen hits 'em where they ain't. Weathertop certainly agrees as Lothlorien's leftfielder unloaded six hits, adding to his reputation of being one of the best pure hitters in the game. His 5th hit was a double off Moggek Ghoulslobberer in the 7th inning. He collected singles in the 1st inning , in the 1st inning (one RBI) , in the 3rd (one RBI) , in the 5th and in the 9th inning . AnlaShok did drive in 2 while scoring 2 runs on his own. He's having a very good season so far, batting .429. The final score of the game was 13-9. |
