Wednesday 10/26/2011: Dead Marshes' Oresplitter named Gandalf Pitcher Award
The Shire Conference Gandalf Pitcher Award winner was announced today, with Lake Town's right-hander Geadriel Gamialf taking home the desired trophy. He certainly earned it, he struck fear into hitters all year long. This season Gamialf compiled an ERA of 2.91, going 22-8 in 35 starts. He fanned 211 while giving up 209 hits in 250.1 innings. Geadriel has pitched 2 shutouts and 4 complete games. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! The Mordor Conference Gandalf Pitcher Award winner was announced today as well, with Dead Marshes' left-hander Nasil Oresplitter taking home the desired trophy. He certainly earned it, he struck fear into hitters all year long. Opposing players hit .229 against Nasil this season. While posting an ERA of 2.81 he went 21-10 in 41 starts, fanning 256 and walking 37 hitters. Nasil has pitched 3 shutouts and 7 complete games. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in wins!
 
Wednesday 10/26/2011: Gamwich (MIR) and Imrilron (MIN) win Sam Gamgee Batter
Mirkwood's leftfielder Minto Gamwich will never forget this day. A great season convinced the voters that he is the worthy Shire Conference Sam Gamgee Batter winner. This year Gamwich drove in 113 and scored 110 runs while batting .273 with 41 bombs. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 1st in homeruns! The Sam Gamgee Batter in the Mordor Conference was handed to Minas Morgul's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron! His season numbers are: .336 AVG, 205 hits, 30 doubles, 3 triples and 50 longballs, along with 127 RBI and 112 runs scored. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI! Imrilron wins the award for the 7th time in his 13-year career.
 
Wednesday 10/26/2011: Isengard's Morales named Frodo Rookie Award
Orgulas Black was named the Shire Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner today. Bucklebury's first baseman put up pretty good numbers for a rookie this year. This 23 year old kid will probably have a long and successful career! Black has walked 39 times this year and posts a .351 OBP. While batting .305, 173 for 567, he has driven in 81 runs. He's 10th in the Shire Conference in batting! The 2011 Mordor Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner is from Isengard this season. Renato Morales put together impressive numbers for a rookie en route to win the first major award of his career. Let's hope more will follow for this 25 year old ballplayer. Renato has a record of 10-13 this season, with an ERA of 2.85. In 198.2 Innings he was able to strike out 169 batters.
 
Tuesday 10/18/2011: Scarlett *II out for 5-6 weeks
BUCKLEBURY - When it rains, it pours. Bucklebury's ace Scarlett *II will not pitch for at least 5-6 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Mirkwood where he left the field in the 5th inning. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Strained Rotator Cuff Muscle. His ERA of 3.11 helped him to a 19-6 record this year. He struck out 257 and walked 65 in 252 innings. He has 4 complete games and 2 shutouts. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 4th in wins!
 
Sunday 10/16/2011: Ishanna *Seladriel blanks Lothlorien with a 2-hitter
MINAS MORGUL - Ishanna *Seladriel had some fun again. Lothlorien hitters did not. Minas Morgul's left-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 0th shutout of the season. He now has 0 career shutouts in 82 games started. *Seladriel (15-7) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking 2, throwing 112 pitches. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Minas Morgul's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron finished 3 for 5, hitting a homerun, scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of *Seladriel. Minas Morgul scored 7 runs on 12 hits.
 
Wednesday 10/5/2011: Ishanna *Seladriel pitches 2-hit shutout against Rohan
ROHAN - Minas Morgul's southpaw Ishanna *Seladriel is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Rohan on just 2 hits. It's his 0th shutout this season, and the 0th time he has done it in his career. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' *Seladriel (15-7) fanned 7 and walked 2, throwing 97 pitches. The hitting star for Minas Morgul was first baseman Firbal the Nasty, he stroked 3 hits in 5 AB, doubling once, and driving in 4 runs. The final score of the game was 11-0.
 
Saturday 10/1/2011: Lake Town's Fadrier earns Pitcher of the Month award
Lake Town's pitcher Gandogast Fadrier is the Shire Conference winner of the Pitcher of the Month award in September. His record of 4-0 in 6 was among the leagues best this month. In 48 innings of work he allowed just 31 hits while striking out 44, compiling an ERA of just 1.50. Gandogast got two complete game shutouts as well! This season Fadrier compiled an ERA of 2.20, going 16-9 in 34 starts. He fanned 278 while giving up 186 hits in 253.1 innings. He has 7 complete games and 5 shutouts. Winner of this months Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Dol Guldur's Vincent Rogers. He struck out 38 hitters in his 6 starts, putting together a record of 3-0 while pitching 38 innings. His ERA in September was 0.76. Vincent pitched a shutout as well. This season Rogers compiled an ERA of 2.66, going 13-15 in 37 starts. He fanned 178 while giving up 223 hits in 260.1 innings. He has 4 complete games and one shutout.
 
Saturday 10/1/2011: Minas Morgul's Imrilron named Batter of the Month
Bree's designated hitter Gollilmer Fyrith had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Batter of the Month. He had an on base percentage of .432 and hit .340, while driving in 26 runs. Fyrith has hit for a .280 average this season. He has 75 extra base hits along with 313 total bases, resulting in a .552 slugging percentage. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 3rd in homeruns! The Mordor Conference's best player of the month was Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron, who wins the award for the 10th time in his career. Imrilron helped his team with an average of .320 and 27 RBI in 100 at bats. Isilborn is hitting .336 this year, with 205 hits in 610 at bats. He has driven in 127 runs, slugging .641. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI!
 
Friday 9/30/2011: Mirkwood's Minto Gamwich ropes five hits
MIRKWOOD - Minto Gamwich is among the best pure hitters in the game, but his 5 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself. His 1st hit, a solo homerun off Periago Goodbody in the 1st inning, cleared the fence in center field. His 2nd hit, off Periago Goodbody in the 3rd inning, was a solo homerun and cleared the fence in right field. A two-run double off Periago Goodbody in the 6th inning accounted for his 4th hit. His 5th hit was a double off Saor Galindil in the 8th inning. He had a single in the 4th. Minto did drive in 4 while scoring 3 runs on his own. He is hitting .273 this season, with 41 HR and 113 RBI. The final score of the game was 8-4.
 
Monday 9/26/2011: Minas Morgul's Imrilron wins Player of the Week award
The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Minto Gamwich, Mirkwood's starting leftfielder. He hit .375 with 10 RBI and slugged .969 in 32 at bats. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron, who wins the award for the 21st time in his career. In 24 at bats he hit .417 with 4 HR and 13 RBI.
 
Saturday 9/24/2011: Vincent Rogers pitches his 1st shutout of the season
DOL GULDUR - Vincent Rogers had some fun again. Isengard hitters did not. Dol Guldur's right-hander gave up just one hit in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 3 career shutouts in 89 games started. Rogers (13-15) fanned 9 and walked 1, throwing 100 pitches. 'I was hitting my spots. Now I'll start concentrating on my next start, and hopefully it will work again.' Buuurk Badgerhater provided Dol Guldur with the offense Rogers needed as he went 1 for 4, hitting a homerun, and collecting 3 RBI. Dol Guldur improved its record to 66-90, scoring 8 runs on 14 hits.
 
Saturday 9/24/2011: Scarlett *II turns in great performance against Carrock
BUCKLEBURY - Great days are rare. But not for Bucklebury's right-hander Scarlett *II. Carrock found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just 2 hits. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 3rd time he has done it in his career. *II (19-5) fanned 9 and walked none, throwing 105 pitches. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Bucklebury's second baseman Flordor Eärämbor collected 4 hits in 5 trips to the plate, stroking two 2B's, scoring 2 runs with 4 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of *II. The final score of the game was 16-0.
 
Thursday 9/22/2011: Grey Havens' Banks severely injured
GREY HAVENS - Grey Havens' season has taken a hit after one of their best players, rightfielder Anson Banks, injured himself while rounding a base. He is likely to miss 9 weeks. Grey Havens wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Banks had suffered a Torn Hamstring Muscle. Anson has gone 156 for 527 (.296) this season, hitting 16 homeruns and driving in 82 runs. He has scored 87 runs on his own.
 
Monday 9/19/2011: Fyrith (BRE) and Imrilron (MIN) win P.O.W. award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bree's Gollilmer Fyrith this time, as the designated hitter displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Gollilmer pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .500 with 4 HR and 6 RBI while slugging 1.333. It's the 20th time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Minas Morgul's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron. He hit .353 with 6 RBI and slugged 1.176 in 17 at bats. Isilborn has gone 192 for 565 (.340) this season, hitting 45 bombs and driving in 113 runs. He has scored 105 runs on his own. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI!
 
Wednesday 9/14/2011: Bree's Arweoden out for 7 weeks
BREE - Bree's lefty Arweolbo Arweoden suffered a severe injury on Wednesday and will be out for at least 7 weeks. In the 4th of the game against Old Forest he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Ruptured Disc Back which will require surgery. Arweolbo has a record of 13-4 this season, with an ERA of 4.09. In 173.2 Innings he was able to strike out 154 batters.
 
Monday 9/12/2011: Elfprodder (OF) and Long Cleve (GH) win P.O.W. award
Old Forest's leftfielder Hudash Elfprodder had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Elfprodder helped his team with an average of .444 and 12 RBI in 27 at bats. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Born Long Cleve, one of Grey Havens' best starting pitchers. Long Cleve was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 0.57. Along the way he struck out 8 in 15.2 innings. He hurled a shutout as well. This season Long Cleve compiled an ERA of 3.53, going 9-13 in 32 starts. He fanned 130 while giving up 176 hits in 201.1 innings. He has one complete game and one shutout.
 
Saturday 9/10/2011: Nasil Oresplitter fires 2-hitter against Isengard
DEAD MARSHES - Dead Marshes' lefty Nasil Oresplitter is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Isengard on just 2 hits. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 7th time he has done it in his career. Oresplitter (19-9) struck out 9 and walked none, throwing 59 of 105 pitches for strikes. 'I was hitting my spots. Now I'll start concentrating on my next start, and hopefully it will work again.' Dead Marshes' catcher Bombur Granitebrow stroked 3 hits in 4 AB. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Oresplitter. The final score of the game was 4-0.
 
Friday 9/9/2011: Season ending injury strikes Mirkwood's Bloodytooth
MIRKWOOD - Mirkwood's right-hander Rundin Bloodytooth will not pitch again this year, suffering a serious injury in the game against Moria on Friday. After being taken to a local hospital, Bloodytooth was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Rotator Cuff Muscle. Opposing players hit .261 against Rundin this season. While posting an ERA of 3.69 he went 14-7 in 30 starts, fanning 183 and walking 54 hitters. He has 2 complete games and one shutout. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in wins!
 
Wednesday 9/7/2011: Season ending injury strikes Minas Ithil's *DiSantolin
MINAS ITHIL - Minas Ithil's shortstop Alrond *DiSantolin suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself firing a ball to first base. He collapsed in pain after the throw and was helped off the field. Torn Tricep Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. *DiSantolin has hit for a .227 average this season. He has 40 extra base hits along with 170 total bases, resulting in a .424 slugging percentage.
 
Monday 9/5/2011: Gamwich and Gandulbo win Player of the Week award
Mirkwood's rightfielder Drogo Gamwich had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. In 23 at bats he hit .478 with 3 HR and 5 RBI. His season numbers are: .247 AVG, 58 hits, 7 doubles, one triple and 17 homeruns, along with 46 RBI and 43 runs scored. Golligast Gandulbo wins his 3rd Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Golligast was on fire, hitting .560 with 5 HR and 12 RBI.
 
Saturday 9/3/2011: Rivendell's the Wicked out for 4 weeks
RIVENDELL - Rivendell's Ruzdug the Wicked suffered a serious injury Saturday in a game against Minas Tirith. the Wicked fell down while running the bases and couldn't get up without help. He will miss probably 4 weeks. Broken Foot was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. While compiling an on base percentage of .380, Ruzdug hit .329 and slugged .438. He has collected 52 runs batted in this year.
 
Friday 9/2/2011: Marus *Alu (DAG) will miss 8 weeks
DAGORLAD - Dagorlad's season took a blow when Marus *Alu suffered a serious injury in the game against Dunharrow. He hurt his arm throwing a strike to first base. *Alu will probaby miss 8 weeks. Dagorlad wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that *Alu had suffered a Torn Tricep Muscle. His season numbers are: .255 AVG, 126 hits, 25 doubles, 11 triples and 5 bombs, along with 43 RBI and 74 runs scored.
 
Friday 9/2/2011: Bywater's Bromburg out for 8-9 weeks
BYWATER - Bywater is without its ace Glodunter Bromburg for at least 8-9 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Lelyan Mariner in a game against Moria. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Bromburg was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Broken Elbow. This season Bromburg compiled an ERA of 3.40, going 12-8 in 31 starts. He fanned 160 while giving up 150 hits in 174.2 innings. He has one complete game and one shutout.
 
Thursday 9/1/2011: Pitcher of the Month award winners announced
Winner of this months Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award is Bree's Arweolbo Arweoden. His record of 3-0 in 5 was among the leagues best this month. In 35.2 innings of work he allowed just 17 hits while striking out 33, compiling an ERA of just 0.50. Arweolbo has a record of 11-4 this season, with an ERA of 3.96. In 157 Innings he was able to strike out 140 batters. The best month of August in the Mordor Conference certainly had Misty Mountain's right-hander Celomli Denaidur, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. His ERA of just 1.07 helped him to a 3-1 record in August. He worked 42 innings, striking out 44 hitters while walking 14. Celomli pitched a shutout as well. Opposing players hit .215 against Celomli this season. While posting an ERA of 3.24 he went 12-9 in 29 starts, fanning 175 and walking 81 hitters. He has 2 complete games and 2 shutouts.
 
Thursday 9/1/2011: Grey Havens' Eliondel named Batter of the Month
Pimth Gäldor of Bucklebury wins his 2nd Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Shire Conference. Pimth was on fire, hitting .299 with 12 homeruns and 23 RBI. Pimth is hitting .303 this year, with 135 hits in 445 at bats. He has driven in 95 runs, slugging .609. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 1st in homeruns! Isszava Eliondel of Grey Havens wins his 3rd Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Mordor Conference. Isszava pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .366 with 10 and 20 RBI while slugging .723. His season numbers are: .295 AVG, 144 hits, 20 doubles, 7 triples and 30 bombs, along with 76 RBI and 95 runs scored.
 
Monday 8/29/2011: Player of the Week honors go to Cheeseslicer and Imrilron
The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Old Forest's Sjors Cheeseslicer, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Sjors went 2-0 with an ERA of 1.59, while fanning 16 in 17 innings of work. He hurled a shutout as well. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron, who wins the award for the 19th time in his career. Imrilron helped his team with an average of .480 and 5 RBI in 25 at bats. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 8 game hitting streak right now. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! Isilborn is hitting .343 this year, with 171 hits in 499 at bats. He has driven in 100 runs, slugging .625. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI!
 
Monday 8/22/2011: Player of the Week honors go to Gäldor and Pimmelgrim
Pimth Gäldor from Bucklebury wins his 4th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. Gäldor helped his team with an average of .438 and 9 RBI in 16 at bats. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. Gäldor has walked 79 times this year and posts a .412 OBP. While batting .299, 124 for 415, he has driven in 89 runs. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 1st in homeruns! Dol Guldur's second baseman Olli Pimmelgrim had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Player of the Week. Olli pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .409 with 6 HR and 10 RBI while slugging 1.318. Olli managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. While compiling an on base percentage of .368, Olli hit .234 and slugged .556. He has collected 47 runs batted in this year.
 
Sunday 8/21/2011: Gimli Cloudskin pitches his 1st shutout of the season
LOTHLORIEN - Lothlorien's right-hander Gimli Cloudskin is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Dead Marshes on just one hit. It's his 1st shutout this season, and the 3rd time he has done it in his career. The bid for a no-hitter was broken up when Mauhur *the Looter singled with no outs in the 7th inning. Cloudskin (12-5) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 1, throwing 65 of 101 pitches for strikes. 'Hey, that's my job! Everytime I take the mound I give the best I can. And my best stuff was too much for them today.' The hitting star for Lothlorien was centerfielder Grumpus *the Grumpest, he got 1 hit in 2 AB, stroking a double, scoring 2 runs. Lothlorien scored 3 runs on 5 hits.
 
Thursday 8/18/2011: Dagorlad's Saphirecryer out for 5 weeks
DAGORLAD - When it rains, it pours. Dagorlad's lefty Parin Saphirecryer will not pitch for at least 5 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Grey Havens where he left the field in the 8th inning. Torn Tricep Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. In 26 starts this year Parin struck out 167 batters in 189.1 innings of work. His ERA is 2.42, his record 14-5. Parin has pitched 2 shutouts and 3 complete games. He's 4th in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 4th in wins!
 
Monday 8/15/2011: Fadrier (LT) and Songboot (LOT) win P.O.W. award
The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Lake Town's Gandogast Fadrier, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 1.53 while going 2-0. He hurled a shutout as well. Gandogast has a record of 10-8 this season, with an ERA of 2.18. In 186 Innings he was able to strike out 212 batters. He has 5 complete games and 3 shutouts. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Kili Songboot, Lothlorien's starting shortstop. He had an on base percentage of .583 and hit .500, while driving in 11 runs.
 
Saturday 8/13/2011: Parin Saphirecryer quiets Weathertop bats with shutout
DAGORLAD - Parin Saphirecryer had his best stuff going, and Weathertop hitters were chanceless. Dagorlad's left-hander fired a 1-hitter, his 2nd shutout of the season. Saphirecryer (14-5) struck out 9 and walked 2, throwing 63 of 110 pitches for strikes. 'Things like that happen. You take the mound and everything works. My velocity was pretty good today and I guess it showed.' Isembard Ploughman helped Saphirecryer at the plate, he finished with 3 hits in 4 AB. The final score of the game was 1-0.
 
Saturday 8/13/2011: Phanra Fimir quiets Minas Morgul bats with shutout
MINAS MORGUL - Phanra Fimir took the mound and never left. And Minas Morgul hitters couldn't touch him at all. Grey Havens' right-hander gave up just one hit in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 6 career shutouts in 161 games started. Phaitina Fandir spoiled the bid for a no-hitter when he singled with one out in the 6th inning. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Fimir (15-2) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 1, throwing 80 of 112 pitches for strikes. Grey Havens' second baseman Tusil Trollsplitter finished 3 for 5, and driving in 3 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Fimir. The final score of the game was 10-0.
 
Friday 8/12/2011: Grey Havens' Isszava Eliondel goes deep three times
MINAS MORGUL - Grey Havens' leftfielder Isszava Eliondel showed the world why he is one of the most amazing sluggers in a 6-5 win over Minas Morgul. He almost knockes the cover off the ball, resulting in three homeruns. A pitch from Galealbo Elvàwen in the 3rd inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 371 feet from home plate in left-center. In the 5th inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Galealbo Elvàwen. His 3rd blast, a solo homerun off Gemina Velenda in the 10th inning, landed an estimated 446 feet from home plate. Isszava finished with 5 hits in 5 AB, hitting a double, with three runs scored and driving in 5 runs. In 4870 career at bats, he has hit 239 homeruns and collected 816 RBI. Grey Havens scored 6 runs on 10 hits.
 
Monday 8/8/2011: Bree's Fyrith wins Player of the Week award
It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Bree's designated hitter Gollilmer Fyrith. Gollilmer went 8 for 18 (.444), while hitting 2 HR and collecting 7 RBI. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 8 game hitting streak right now. Fyrith has hit 23 homeruns this year while batting .273. He adds 25 doubles, along with 78 runs scored. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in RBIs and 8th in homeruns! It's the 3rd time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Numenor's third baseman Wong Trollraper. He had an on base percentage of .545 and hit .500, while driving in 8 runs.
 
Tuesday 8/2/2011: Sjors Cheeseslicer quiets Wilderland bats with shutout
OLD FOREST - Sjors Cheeseslicer took the mound and never left. And Wilderland hitters couldn't touch him at all. Old Forest's right-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 3 career shutouts in 130 games started. With two outs in the 7th inning Gandaugrin Gamaiborn doubled to break up the no-hitter. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches.' Cheeseslicer (9-7) struck out 9 and walked none, throwing 62 of 106 pitches for strikes. Lumth Elváril helped Cheeseslicer at the plate, he stroked 1 hit in 3 AB. Old Forest scored 1 run on 5 hits.
 
Monday 8/1/2011: Troublemaker and Fimir receive Pitcher of the Month award
The best month of July in the Shire Conference certainly had Bree's left-hander Halleron Troublemaker, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He started 6 games in July, going 6-0 and compiling an ERA of 1.20 in 45 innings. Halleron fanned 36 hitters. His ERA of 2.63 helped him to a 15-3 record this year. He struck out 97 and walked 53 in 157.1 innings. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! Phanra Fimir pitched like a legend in July, and the Mordor Conference named him Pitcher of the Month for his extraordinary performance. His record of 4-0 in 5 was among the leagues best this month. In 31.2 innings of work he allowed just 17 hits while striking out 26, compiling an ERA of just 1.14. Phanra has a record of 12-2 this season, with an ERA of 2.30. In 148.2 Innings he was able to strike out 114 batters. He's 3rd in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 4th in wins!
 
Monday 8/1/2011: Collinsworth (MT) and Clawfoot (MM) win monthly award
The Batter of the Month award in the Shire Conference goes to Minas Tirith's Gregory Collinsworth this time, as the rightfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Collinsworth helped his team with an average of .374 and 23 RBI in 91 at bats. He has hit 20 bombs while batting .315 this season. His 123 hits and 47 walks add up to a .392 on-base percentage. He's 10th in the Shire Conference in batting and 9th in RBI! Misty Mountain's second baseman Tran Clawfoot had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month. Tran pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .344 with 5 and 22 RBI while slugging .688. His season features a batting average of .234 (86 hits in 367 AB), 34 doubles, 6 triples and 10 bombs. Clawfoot collected 47 RBI and 45 runs as well.
 
Monday 8/1/2011: Lothlorien's Gauthor wins Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bucklebury's Flordor Eärämbor this time, as the second baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Eärämbor helped his team with an average of .542 and 10 RBI in 24 at bats. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 14 game hitting streak right now. This year Eärämbor drove in 63 and scored 57 runs while batting .337 with 9 homeruns. He's 2nd in the Shire Conference in batting! Gollomer Gauthor wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Mordor Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Gollomer was on fire, hitting .444 with 1 HR and 9 RBI.
 
Sunday 7/31/2011: Misty Mountain has no chance in a 1-hitter by Prilak Hammershaker
NUMENOR - Numenor's right-hander Prilak Hammershaker is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Misty Mountain on just one hit. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 17th time he has done it in his career. 'I felt early that I was on top of my game. Fortunately I was able to keep that feeling the entire game.' Hammershaker (10-10) struck out 8 and issued 1 BB, throwing 68 of 100 pitches for strikes. Numenor's third baseman Wong Trollraper finished with 2 hits in 3 AB, hitting a double. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Hammershaker. Numenor improved its record to 55-52, scoring 4 runs on 10 hits.
 
Sunday 7/31/2011: Rohan's Bell severely injured
ROHAN - When it rains, it pours. Rohan's right-hander Katie Bell will not pitch for at least 5-6 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Dunharrow where he left the field in the 8th inning. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Strained Rotator Cuff Muscle which will require surgery. His ERA of 2.85 helped him to a 2-1 record this year. He struck out 44 and walked 22 in 47.1 innings.
 
Monday 7/25/2011: Player of the Week honors go to *Squishmasher and Arwodur
Rivendell's third baseman Loopy *Squishmasher had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. *Squishmasher helped his team with an average of .556 and 8 RBI in 27 at bats. Loopy has gone 117 for 364 (.321) this season, hitting 19 bombs and driving in 58 runs. He has scored 66 runs on his own. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in batting! It's the 2nd time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dead Marshes' pitcher Ban Arwodur. Arwodur was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 1.06. Along the way he struck out 12 in 17 innings. He hurled a shutout as well.
 
Sunday 7/24/2011: Minas Tirith's Binus Anvilworker laces five hits
MINAS TIRITH - Binus Anvilworker punished Isengard's pitching today, collecting five hits in 6 AB. That definitely helped Minas Tirith, they won the game 10 to 8. A 354 foot drive to right field marked his 2nd hit, a solo homerun off Vogush Spearripper in the 4th inning. It tied the ballgame at 1. Number 3 in the 5th inning, a shot estimated at 382 feet, cleared the wall in right field. He collected singles in the 1st , in the 6th (one RBI) and in the 12th inning . Binus did drive in 4 while scoring 3 runs on his own. His 5 hit performance increases his batting average to .285.
 
Tuesday 7/19/2011: Jerrolde Rector quiets Rohan bats with shutout
CARROCK - Jerrolde Rector had some fun again. Rohan hitters did not. Carrock's right-hander gave up just one hit in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 3 career shutouts in 95 games started. Rector (10-8) fanned 4 and walked 1, throwing 81 pitches. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Trik *Rider provided Carrock with the offense Rector needed as he got 3 hits in 4 AB, scoring twice. The final score of the game was 4-0.
 
Tuesday 7/19/2011: Minas Tirith's Gonai Drowslobberer clears fence three times
MINAS TIRITH - Hitting a homerun is fine, but hitting three of them in one game is something special. Minas Tirith's catcher Gonai Drowslobberer accomplished that feat in a 24-0 win over Dagorlad. Number 1 in the 1st inning, a shot estimated at 391 feet, cleared the wall in left field. His 2nd blast, a three-run homerun off Hilin Goldarm in the 5th inning, landed an estimated 371 feet from home plate. In the 6th inning he unloaded a three-run homerun off Sady the Insane. Overall he finished 3 for 6, with three runs scored and collecting 8 RBI. His homerun total this year is 11, along with 44 RBI.
 
Monday 7/18/2011: Sorrel Amblestar fires 2-hitter against Old Forest
OLD FOREST - Great days are rare. But not for Misty Mountain's right-hander Sorrel Amblestar. Old Forest found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just 2 hits. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 6th time he has done it in his career. Amblestar (13-6) struck out 7 and issued 5 BB, throwing 75 of 124 pitches for strikes. 'I was able to keep´em off balance. That certainly helped.' Novathiel Novathien helped Amblestar at the plate, he stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, homering once, scoring two runs with 5 RBI. Misty Mountain scored 14 runs on 17 hits.
 
Monday 7/18/2011: Dagorlad's Leguden wins Player of the Week award
The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Old Forest's Thor Wingnutt, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Thor was on fire, hitting .429 with 2 HR and 10 RBI. It's the 3rd time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dagorlad's catcher Moraudoc Leguden. Moraudoc went 11 for 23 (.478), while hitting 1 HR and collecting 7 RBI. He has hit 8 homeruns while batting .310 this season. His 90 hits and 60 walks add up to a .429 on-base percentage. He's 6th in the Mordor Conference in batting!
 
Saturday 7/16/2011: Merimac Snowmouth out for 6 weeks
WILDERLAND - When it rains, it pours. Wilderland's ace Merimac Snowmouth will not pitch for at least 6 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Weathertop where he left the field in the 1st inning. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Inflamed Rotator Cuff Muscle. In 20 starts this year Merimac struck out 87 batters in 114.1 innings of work. His ERA is 4.01, his record 5-9.
 
Monday 7/11/2011: Grey Havens' Gandulbo wins Player of the Week award
Binus Anvilworker wins his 0th Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He had an on base percentage of .429 and hit .421, while driving in 10 runs. Golligast Gandulbo from Grey Havens wins his 2nd Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. In 20 at bats he hit .450 with 2 HR and 8 RBI. This year Gandulbo drove in 51 and scored 43 runs while batting .280 with 13 homeruns.
 
Sunday 7/10/2011: Gondolin's *DiSantolin severely injured
GONDOLIN - Gondolin's season took a blow when Alrond *DiSantolin suffered a serious injury in the game against Dol Guldur. He hurt his arm throwing a strike to first base. *DiSantolin will probaby miss 4-5 weeks. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Bone Chips Elbow which will require surgery. This year *DiSantolin drove in 41 and scored 48 runs while batting .229 with 12 bombs.
 
Friday 7/8/2011: Vogush Spearripper blanks Gondolin with a 1-hitter
GONDOLIN - Isengard's right-hander Vogush Spearripper will never forget this day. The 28-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 1-hitter, against Gondolin on Friday. Sifur Silvermaster spoiled the bid for a no-hitter when he singled with one out in the 5th inning. Spearripper (7-4) fanned 8 and walked 3, throwing 111 pitches. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Isengard's catcher Boran Armormasher went 2 for 4, going deep twice, scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Spearripper. The final score of the game was 4-0.
 
Friday 7/8/2011: Bugrin Spinner fires 2-hitter against Dagorlad
BYWATER - Bugrin Spinner took the mound and never left. And Dagorlad hitters couldn't touch him at all. Bywater's right-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 2 career shutouts in 150 games started. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Spinner (6-7) was overpowering, fanning 12 while walking 3, throwing 110 pitches. Bywater's designated hitter Lula Taralom finished 2 for 4, blasting a homerun, hitting a double, scoring 2 runs and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Spinner. Bywater scored 5 runs on 10 hits.
 
Friday 7/8/2011: Ciurk Badgerpoker clubs five hits in a game
OLD FOREST - Rohan's centerfielder Ciurk Badgerpoker accomplished a difficult feat in a 11-6 win over Old Forest, drilling five hits to improve his career batting average to .284! In the 1st inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Eralqua Megilwen. A double off Haleodriel Grilbo in the 4th inning accounted for his 3rd hit. His 5th hit, a solo homerun off Boremir Boreagrin in the 8th inning, cleared the fence in center field. He collected singles in the 2nd (two RBIs) and in the 6th inning (one RBI). Ciurk did drive in 5 while scoring 2 runs on his own. His 5 hit performance increases his batting average to .262. Rohan scored 11 runs on 13 hits.
 
Thursday 7/7/2011: Numenor's Bonemangler severely injured
NUMENOR - Numenor is without its southpaw Dolok Bonemangler for at least 6-7 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Elrildur Elriamli in a game against Old Forest. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Bonemangler was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Torn Tricep Muscle. Dolok has a record of 2-10 this season, with an ERA of 5.22. In 100 Innings he was able to strike out 80 batters.
 
Monday 7/4/2011: Guril and the Smasher win Player of the Week award
Sortai Guril from Bywater wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Shire Conference. Sortai went 14 for 27 (.519), while hitting 5 HR and collecting 9 RBI. The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Lothlorien's Razrhot the Smasher this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. the Smasher helped his team with an average of .542 and 9 RBI in 24 at bats.
 
Friday 7/1/2011: Wilderland has no chance in a 2-hitter by William Oconnor
WILDERLAND - Bucklebury's southpaw William Oconnor is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Wilderland on just 2 hits. It's his 3rd shutout this season, and the 4th time he has done it in his career. 'Pitching a great game is always a good thing. And it doesn't get much better than today.' Oconnor (6-5) was overpowering, fanning 12 while walking 2, throwing 109 pitches. Bucklebury's leftfielder Samwise Peatfingers finished with 4 hits in 5 AB, hitting a homerun, scoring two runs and collecting 3 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Oconnor. The final score of the game was 12-0.
 
Friday 7/1/2011: Dagorlad's Saphirecryer named Pitcher of the Month
Floror Eärilmarion couldn't have pitched much better than he did in June, and the Shire Conference thought so as well, naming the right-hander Pitcher of the Month. His record of 5-0 in 5 was among the leagues best this month. In 35.2 innings of work he allowed just 21 hits while striking out 23, compiling an ERA of just 1.01. In 16 starts this year Floror struck out 72 batters in 101 innings of work. His ERA is 2.50, his record 12-1. He's 4th in the Shire Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins! Parin Saphirecryer couldn't have pitched much better than he did in June, and the Mordor Conference thought so as well, naming the left-hander Pitcher of the Month. His ERA of just 1.77 helped him to a 4-1 record in June. He worked 45.2 innings, striking out 39 hitters while walking 7. This season Saphirecryer compiled an ERA of 2.20, going 10-2 in 17 starts. He fanned 108 while giving up 93 hits in 127 innings. Parin has pitched one shutout and 2 complete games. He's 3rd in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 2nd in wins!
 
Friday 7/1/2011: Mandicer (BUC) and the Smasher (LOT) win monthly award
The Shire Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Srukor Mandicer, Bucklebury's starting catcher. Srukor went 34 for 92 (.370), while hitting 4 HR and collecting 28 RBI. Srukor is hitting .284 this year, with 76 hits in 268 at bats. He has driven in 47 runs, slugging .489. Razrhot the Smasher of Lothlorien wins his 2nd Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Mordor Conference. Razrhot pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .400 with 7 and 26 RBI while slugging .663. the Smasher has hit 12 homeruns this year while batting .334. He adds 13 doubles, along with 52 runs scored. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in batting and 7th in RBI!
 
Monday 6/27/2011: Dagorlad's Sauers out for the season
DAGORLAD - Dagorlad's second baseman Bill Sauers suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself firing a ball to first base. He collapsed in pain after the throw and was helped off the field. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Torn Tricep Muscle. Surgery will be performed next week. While compiling an on base percentage of .372, Bill hit .302 and slugged .417. He has collected 40 runs batted in this year.
 
Monday 6/27/2011: Geadriel Gamialf shuts out Wilderland on 2 hits
LAKE TOWN - Lake Town's right-hander Geadriel Gamialf is clearly one of the best pitchers in the game. Wilderland found out the hard way, getting just 2 hits. Gamialf 2nd shutout this season was a masterpiece, as he was almost untouchable. He has now hurled 11th shutouts in his career. Gamialf (13-1) fanned 8 and walked 3, throwing 108 pitches. 'Hey, that's my job! Everytime I take the mound I give the best I can. And my best stuff was too much for them today.' Haran Goblinkiller helped Gamialf at the plate, he finished with 2 hits in 3 AB. The final score of the game was 3-0.
 
Monday 6/27/2011: Moria's *the Shriek wins Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Moria's Morag *the Shriek this time, as the third baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Morag pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .500 with 2 HR and 7 RBI while slugging .786. The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Lothlorien's Razrhot the Smasher this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Razrhot pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .455 with 5 HR and 10 RBI while slugging 1.136.
 
Wednesday 6/22/2011: Wonai Trollprodder pitches 2-hit shutout against Dunharrow
GREY HAVENS - With his best stuff going, Grey Havens' Wonai Trollprodder overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. Dunharrow had no chance, collecting just 2 hits against the left-hander. 'I was able to keep´em off balance. That certainly helped.' Trollprodder (5-8) fanned 8 and walked 3, throwing 110 pitches. Grey Havens' leftfielder Isszava Eliondel got 2 hits in 4 AB, homering once. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Trollprodder. Grey Havens scored 3 runs on 8 hits.
 
Wednesday 6/22/2011: Moria's Norà out for 7 weeks
MORIA - Moria's players were scared when they had to watch Thurlla Norà suffer a serious injury when he dove for a ball in the game against Bywater. He collapsed in pain and was helped off the field. Norà will probaby miss 7 weeks. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Ruptured Disc Back. Norà has hit 8 homeruns this year while batting .231. He adds 7 doubles, along with 23 runs scored.
 
Monday 6/20/2011: Palafox (RIV) and Elruborn (DM) win P.O.W. award
The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Michale Palafox, Rivendell's starting leftfielder. Palafox helped his team with an average of .550 and 2 RBI in 20 at bats. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 12 games. His season features a batting average of .333 (87 hits in 261 AB), 19 doubles, 2 triples and 5 bombs. Palafox collected 44 RBI and 49 runs as well. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in batting! Dead Marshes' leftfielder Eond Elruborn had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Mordor Conference Player of the Week. In 17 at bats he hit .529 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. Elruborn has walked 22 times this year and posts a .375 OBP. While batting .311, 66 for 212, he has driven in 40 runs. He's 7th in the Mordor Conference in batting!
 
Monday 6/13/2011: Mandicer and Sandybanks win Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bucklebury's Srukor Mandicer this time, as the catcher displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Srukor pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .500 with 2 HR and 8 RBI while slugging 1.083. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Dead Marshes' pitcher Todo Sandybanks. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 0.00 while going 2-0. He pitched two shutouts! Todo has a record of 6-4 this season, with an ERA of 1.93. In 126 Innings he was able to strike out 105 batters. Todo has pitched 2 shutouts and 3 complete games.
 
Thursday 6/9/2011: Gandogast Fadrier quiets Gondolin bats with shutout
GONDOLIN - Lake Town's left-hander Gandogast Fadrier is clearly one of the best pitchers in the game. Gondolin found out the hard way, getting just 2 hits. Fadrier 2nd shutout this season was a masterpiece, as he was almost untouchable. He has now hurled 9th shutouts in his career. Fadrier (4-5) struck out 9 and issued 2 BB, throwing 71 of 112 pitches for strikes. 'They took some ugly cuts at my breaking stuff, so I kept throwing it. Fortunately they were not able to adjust in time.' The hitting star for Lake Town was second baseman Haran Goblinkiller, he stroked 3 hits in 4 AB, doubling twice, with 2 RBI. The final score of the game was 6-0.
 
Wednesday 6/8/2011: Bywater's Pulley out for 7 weeks
BYWATER - Bywater's first baseman Lester Pulley hurt himself in the 8th inning while making a routine throw to first base. He experienced serious pain and had to leave the game. Lester Pulley will miss at least 7 weeks. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Torn Tricep Muscle. This year Pulley drove in 56 and scored 46 runs while batting .332 with 17 longballs. He's 8th in the Shire Conference in batting, 2nd in homeruns and 1st in RBI!
 
Tuesday 6/7/2011: Gimli Cloudskin (LOT) will miss 5 weeks
LOTHLORIEN - Lothlorien's ace Gimli Cloudskin suffered a severe injury on Tuesday and will be out for at least 5 weeks. In the 1st of the game against Weathertop he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Cloudskin was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Torn Bicep Muscle. Gimli has a record of 7-2 this season, with an ERA of 1.56. In 86.2 Innings he was able to strike out 115 batters. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 7th in wins!

Bywater's first baseman Lester Pulley had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Lester was on fire, hitting .345 with 6 HR and 12 RBI. The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron this time, as the leftfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Imrilron helped his team with an average of .529 and 4 RBI in 17 at bats. His season features a batting average of .402 (88 hits in 219 AB), 13 doubles, no triples and 22 longballs. Imrilron collected 48 RBI and 45 runs as well. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 2nd in RBI!
 
Wednesday 6/1/2011: Deneadur (MRA) and Fimir (GH) win monthly pitcher award
Moria's Denaumir Deneadur had a terrific May, and it earned him the Shire Conference Pitcher of the month award. He struck out 47 hitters in his 5 starts, putting together a record of 4-0 while pitching 47 innings. His ERA in May was 1.38. Denaumir pitched a shutout as well. This season Deneadur compiled an ERA of 2.38, going 5-1 in 11 starts. He fanned 84 while giving up 62 hits in 79.1 innings. Denaumir has pitched one shutout and 2 complete games. Phanra Fimir pitched like a legend in May, and the Mordor Conference named him Pitcher of the Month for his extraordinary performance. His record of 3-0 in 6 was among the leagues best this month. In 41.1 innings of work he allowed just 26 hits while striking out 26, compiling an ERA of just 1.31. In 12 starts this year Phanra struck out 56 batters in 77.2 innings of work. His ERA is 2.67, his record 6-1. He's 7th in the Mordor Conference in wins!

The Shire Conference's best player of the month was Minas Tirith's Balin Bloodspear, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. He had an on base percentage of .410 and hit .378, while driving in 16 runs. Balin is hitting .360 this year, with 85 hits in 236 at bats. He has driven in 28 runs, slugging .534. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in batting! The Mordor Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Isilborn Imrilron, Minas Morgul's starting leftfielder. He hit .390 with 23 RBI and slugged .790 in 100 at bats. Imrilron has walked 12 times this year and posts a .426 OBP. While batting .398, 82 for 206, he has driven in 47 runs. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI!
 
Monday 5/30/2011: Moria's *the Shriek wins Player of the Week award
The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Morag *the Shriek, Moria's starting third baseman. *the Shriek helped his team with an average of .440 and 11 RBI in 25 at bats. His season numbers are: .274 AVG, 52 hits, 5 doubles, no triples and 11 bombs, along with 35 RBI and 20 runs scored. The Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Isilborn Imrilron, Minas Morgul's starting leftfielder. Imrilron helped his team with an average of .464 and 9 RBI in 28 at bats.
 
Sunday 5/29/2011: Gwogast Gorund stars with cycle against Dagorlad
MINAS MORGUL - Gwogast Gorund is a pretty good hitter, but his 4 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself considering that the hits added up to the cycle, one of the most difficult things to accomplish in baseball. His 4th hit, off Celebalata Celebalataiel in the 8th inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in right-center. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Gwogast scored 2 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! He now has a total of 22 hits this season, accounting for a .256 batting average. He becomes the 25th player in league history collect at least a single, double, triple and a homerun in a single game. Monday 5/23/2011: Minas Morgul's Chubb wins Player of the Week award
The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Bywater's Lester Pulley, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Lester went 12 for 28 (.429), while hitting 2 HR and collecting 10 RBI. This year Pulley drove in 40 and scored 30 runs while batting .322 with 9 longballs. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Minas Morgul's Tanta Chubb, who wins the award for the 4th time in his career. Chubb helped his team with an average of .455 and 8 RBI in 22 at bats. Chubb has walked 12 times this year and posts a .369 OBP. While batting .322, 56 for 174, he has driven in 34 runs. He's 3rd in the Mordor Conference in batting, 4th in homeruns and 5th in RBI!
 
Monday 5/16/2011: Bree's the Flatulent wins Player of the Week award
The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Grunthos the Flatulent, Bree's starting leftfielder. He had an on base percentage of .560 and hit .476, while driving in 9 runs. This year the Flatulent drove in 23 and scored 20 runs while batting .279 with 3 longballs. It's the 4th time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Rohan's centerfielder Ciurk Badgerpoker. Badgerpoker helped his team with an average of .444 and 5 RBI in 18 at bats. Badgerpoker has walked 18 times this year and posts a .355 OBP. While batting .272, 37 for 136, he has driven in 26 runs. He's 10th in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 4th in homeruns!
 
Wednesday 5/11/2011: Eralqua Megilwen (OF) will miss 5 weeks
OLD FOREST - Old Forest's right-hander Eralqua Megilwen suffered a severe injury on Wednesday and will be out for at least 5 weeks. In the 4th of the game against Bucklebury he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Inflamed Rotator Cuff Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. Eralqua has a record of 4-1 this season, with an ERA of 2.40. In 41.1 Innings he was able to strike out 35 batters.
 
Monday 5/9/2011: Grey Havens' Eliondel wins Player of the Week award
It's the 1st time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Bucklebury's pitcher Scarlett *II. Scarlett went 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00, while fanning 17 in 16.1 innings of work. He hurled a shutout as well. It's the 4th time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Grey Havens' leftfielder Isszava Eliondel. He hit .429 with 10 RBI and slugged 1.238 in 21 at bats. He has hit 10 taters while batting .301 this season. His 40 hits and 14 walks add up to a .384 on-base percentage.
 
Saturday 5/7/2011: Grey Havens' Isszava Eliondel slams three taters
DEAD MARSHES - Grey Havens' leftfielder Isszava Eliondel flexed his muscles and displayed his tremendous power, homering three times in a 6-2 win over Dead Marshes. A 424 foot drive to center field marked his 1st bomb, a two-run homerun off Nasil Oresplitter in the 1st inning. Number 2 in the 5th inning, a shot estimated at 390 feet, cleared the wall in right field. In the 9th inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Lonak Fleshkiller. Isszava collected 3 hits in 5 trips to the plate, scoring three times with 5 RBI. The final score of the game was 6-2.
 
Thursday 5/5/2011: Isilborn Imrilron blisters three bombs
MINAS MORGUL - Hitting a homerun is fine, but hitting three of them in one game is something special. Minas Morgul's leftfielder Isilborn Imrilron accomplished that feat in a 12-2 win over Dol Guldur. His 1st shot, off Ugku the Tough in the 1st inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in left field. A pitch from Ugku the Tough in the 2nd inning left his bat for a GRAND SLAM, landing 347 feet from home plate in left field. His 3rd blast, a solo homerun off Pimra Gàlas in the 4th inning, landed an estimated 368 feet from home plate. Overall he finished 4 for 5, stroking a double, scoring FOUR runs with 7 RBI. On 9/29/2010, Vorzava Tinond was the last player to hit 3 dingers in a single game.
 
Thursday 5/5/2011: William Oconnor pitches 2-hit shutout against Moria
MORIA - William Oconnor had some fun again. Moria hitters did not. Bucklebury's lefty gave up just 2 hits in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 3 career shutouts in 42 games started. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches.' Oconnor (3-1) struck out 9 and walked 3, throwing 64 of 110 pitches for strikes. Hafur Goblincrusher provided Bucklebury with the offense Oconnor needed as he went 2 for 4, going deep twice, scoring twice with 3 RBI. The final score of the game was 11-0.
 
Monday 5/2/2011: Misty Mountain's Bloodaxe wins Player of the Week award
The Shire Conference's best player of the week was Old Forest's Hudash Elfprodder, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. In 29 at bats he hit .586 with 4 HR and 11 RBI. Hudash has gone 38 for 109 (.349) this season, hitting 10 homeruns and driving in 26 runs. He has scored 22 runs on his own. He's 9th in the Shire Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 4th in RBI! The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Misty Mountain's Bagwurz Bloodaxe this time, as the catcher displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. In 31 at bats he hit .548 with 2 HR and 7 RBI.
 
Sunday 5/1/2011: Old Forest's Boreagrin out for 5 weeks
OLD FOREST - Old Forest is without its right-hander Boremir Boreagrin for at least 5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Hahai Elefontcrawler in a game against Lake Town. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Strained Rotator Cuff Muscle. Surgery will be performed next week. His ERA of 6.14 helped him to a 0-1 record this year. He struck out 16 and walked 1 in 14.2 innings.
 
Sunday 5/1/2011: Season ending injury strikes Lake Town's Peatfingers
LAKE TOWN - Lake Town's lefty Sancho Peatfingers experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 7th inning of the game against Old Forest, Peatfingers complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Torn Rotator Cuff Muscle which will require surgery. Opposing players hit .219 against Sancho this season. While posting an ERA of 3.23 he went 3-2 in 6 starts, fanning 50 and walking 5 hitters.
 
Sunday 5/1/2011: Bree's Fandil severely injured
BREE - Bree's pitcher Phaitai Fandil was part of a scary incident that saw the right-hander being hit by a line drive in the 3rd inning of the game between Bree and Mirkwood. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Fandil will miss about 6 weeks. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Fractured Cheekbone. His ERA of 5.86 helped him to a 1-1 record this year. He struck out 19 and walked 15 in 35.1 innings. Phaitai has pitched one shutout and one complete game.
 
Sunday 5/1/2011: Pitcher of the Month award winners announced
The best month of April in the Shire Conference certainly had Lake Town's right-hander Geadriel Gamialf, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He had an ERA of just 1.59 in 45.1 innings of work in which he struck out 38 hitters. His record in April is 5-0. Geadriel pitched a shutout as well. Lothlorien's pitcher Gimli Cloudskin is the Mordor Conference winner of the Pitcher of the Month award in April. His record of 4-1 in 6 was among the leagues best this month. In 44 innings of work he allowed just 24 hits while striking out 61, compiling an ERA of just 1.02.
 
Sunday 5/1/2011: the Nasty (WIL) and Imrilron (MIN) win monthly award
The Batter of the Month award in the Shire Conference goes to Wilderland's Firbal the Nasty this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. the Nasty helped his team with an average of .390 and 22 RBI in 105 at bats. The Batter of the Month award in the Mordor Conference goes to Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron this time, as the leftfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Isilborn pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .406 with 10 and 24 RBI while slugging .736.
 
Saturday 4/30/2011: William Oconnor pitches his 1st shutout of the season
GONDOLIN - Bucklebury's southpaw William Oconnor is clearly one of the best pitchers in the game. Gondolin found out the hard way, getting just 2 hits. Oconnor 1st shutout this season was a masterpiece, as he was almost untouchable. He has now hurled 2nd shutouts in his career. 'Things like that happen. You take the mound and everything works. My velocity was pretty good today and I guess it showed.' Oconnor (2-1) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 2, throwing 69 of 107 pitches for strikes. Bucklebury's leftfielder Samwise Peatfingers collected 1 hit in 3 trips to the plate, blasting a homerun, and collecting 3 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Oconnor. The final score of the game was 4-0.
 
Friday 4/29/2011: Parin Saphirecryer pitches 1-hit shutout against Dunharrow
DAGORLAD - Dagorlad's lefty Parin Saphirecryer will never forget this day. The 27-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 1-hitter, against Dunharrow on Friday. Saphirecryer (3-1) struck out 8 and walked none, throwing 58 of 93 pitches for strikes. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Isembard Ploughman provided Dagorlad with the offense Saphirecryer needed as he collected 3 hits in 5 trips to the plate, hitting two dingers, scoring 2 runs and collecting 4 RBI. The final score of the game was 11-0.
 
Tuesday 4/26/2011: Season ending injury strikes Dead Marshes' Miller
DEAD MARSHES - Dead Marshes' shortstop Raymond Miller suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself firing a ball to first base. He collapsed in pain after the throw and was helped off the field. Miller was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Torn Bicep Muscle. Raymond has gone 31 for 96 (.323) this season, hitting 5 taters and driving in 21 runs. He has scored 14 runs on his own. He's 3rd in the Mordor Conference in RBIs and 8th in homeruns!
 
Monday 4/25/2011: Eärämbor (BUC) and the Sling (ROH) win P.O.W. award
Bucklebury's second baseman Flordor Eärämbor had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. Flordor went 13 for 23 (.565), while hitting 2 HR and collecting 12 RBI. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Rohan's Mathilda the Sling this time, as the pitcher displayed the best pitching perfomance in his league. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 0.00 while going 2-0. In 6 starts this year Mathilda struck out 36 batters in 39 innings of work. His ERA is 1.15, his record 5-0. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in ERA and 1st in wins!
 
Saturday 4/23/2011: Old Forest's Hudash Elfprodder hits for the cycle
OLD FOREST - Old Forest's leftfielder Hudash Elfprodder accomplished a difficult feat in a game against Bywater, hitting for the cycle to improve his career batting average to .264! A double off Ulor Témir in the 2nd inning accounted for his 1st hit. A single in the 4th off Ulor Témir accounted for his 2nd hit. Hit number 3 followed in the 6th inning, a triple. A pitch from Isond Imrudur in the 8th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 396 feet from home plate in left-center. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Hudash scored 3 runs, and he collected one RBI as well! His 4 hit performance increases his batting average to .262. He's now the 24th player in league history to hit for the cycle! Sarkor Galuwyn was the last player to hit for the cycle, doing it 7/18/2010.
 
Monday 4/18/2011: Gandogast Fadrier fires 1-hitter against Bree
BREE - Lake Town's left-hander Gandogast Fadrier is clearly one of the best pitchers in the game. Bree found out the hard way, getting just one hit. Fadrier 1st shutout this season was a masterpiece, as he was almost untouchable. He has now hurled 8th shutouts in his career. Bork Beavercleaver spoiled the bid for a no-hitter when he singled with two outs in the 5th inning. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Fadrier (2-1) struck out 9 and walked none, throwing 70 of 107 pitches for strikes. Silla Glàrion helped Fadrier at the plate, he got 1 hit in 3 AB, blasting a homerun, and driving in 3 runs. Lake Town improved its record to 10-7, scoring 7 runs on 11 hits.
 
Monday 4/18/2011: *Debuugger and Nadrierion win Player of the Week award
It's the 6th time that the Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Lake Town's shortstop Silas *Debuugger. In 25 at bats he hit .440 with 4 HR and 15 RBI. Silas managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Rohan's Thudor Nadrierion, who wins the award for the 3rd time in his career. Thudor pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .500 with 3 HR and 10 RBI while slugging 1.083.
 
Sunday 4/17/2011: Bugrin Spinner dominates Carrock, gives up just 2 hits
BYWATER - Bywater's right-hander Bugrin Spinner will never forget this day. The 28-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Carrock on Sunday. Spinner (2-2) struck out 9 and issued 2 BB, throwing 65 of 106 pitches for strikes. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today.' Bywater's third baseman Lester Pulley went 1 for 4, doubling once. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Spinner. Bywater improved its record to 10-6, scoring 1 run on 6 hits.
 
Tuesday 4/12/2011: Gwomer Grailas out for 5 weeks
MISTY MOUNTAIN - Misty Mountain is without its ace Gwomer Grailas for at least 5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Moraudoc Leguden in a game against Dagorlad. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Pulled Tricep Muscle.
 
Tuesday 4/12/2011: Lake Town's Nilad out for the season
LAKE TOWN - Lake Town's catcher Thuralia Nilad will miss the rest of the season. He injured himself running the bases in the game between Lake Town and Minas Tirith. The injury didn't seem to be serious the moment it happened. But suddenly Nilad collapsed in pain and had to be carried off the field. Lake Town wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Nilad had suffered a Ruptured Achilles Tendon.

The Player of the Week award in the Shire Conference goes to Bucklebury's Flordor Eärämbor this time, as the second baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Eärämbor helped his team with an average of .611 and 5 RBI in 18 at bats. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Minas Morgul's Isilborn Imrilron, who wins the award for the 16th time in his career. He had an on base percentage of .452 and hit .452, while driving in 8 runs. Isilborn has gone 20 for 44 (.455) this season, hitting 6 longballs and driving in 12 runs. He has scored 10 runs on his own. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI!
 
Wednesday 4/6/2011: Vrsol Swordbasher dominates Moria, throws NO-HITTER
MORIA - Great things can happen when you throw strikes. And Vrsol Swordbasher did so today, in a no-hit shutout against Moria. Thurlla Norà spoiled the bid for a perfect game when he walked with no outs in the 6th inning. 'I was able to keep´em off balance. That certainly helped. What a day!' Swordbasher (1-0) struck out 5 and walked 3, throwing 66 of 110 pitches for strikes. Arwildoc Belebrindil provided Bree with the offense Swordbasher needed as he collected 1 hit in 4 trips to the plate, doubling once, with 3 RBI. The final score of the game was 4-0.

RIVENDELL - Rivendell's pitcher Mundin Elfplate was part of a scary incident that saw the right-hander being hit by a line drive in the 3rd inning of the game between Rivendell and Minas Tirith. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Elfplate will miss about 5 weeks. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Broken Hand which will require surgery.
