 | Saturday, June 1st, 2013: Gromghash Throatshaker of the Ponies Receives Bilbo League Pitcher of the Month Award The Prairie Hill Ponies celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Gromghash Throatshaker had been selected as May's Bilbo League Pitcher of the Month. Throatshaker's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on local sports talk radio, and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. Throatshaker tossed 54 innings last month, sitting down 28 batters and walking 18. He came away with a 6-0 record, putting together 7 quality starts and an ERA of 1.17. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," Throatshaker said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you, and you feel confident you can get outs." In 2013 Throatshaker has registered 9 wins and 1 loss and pitched 95.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .171 against the Prairie Hill starter. He also has 58 strikeouts under his belt. |
