| Monday, September 23rd, 2019: Bucklebury's Boffin Stands out in Shutout
Drogo Boffin was downright nasty in pitching a 9-0 shutout against Carrock. His splitter was diving, his slider was breaking and the Bears were swinging and looking bad. In the solid 5-hit shutout the Fairies hurler chalked up 6 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
"As the game went on, he got stronger," his manager said. "I thought he really turned it up a notch in the eighth and ninth and probably threw his best breaking balls in those two innings. They put a lot of balls in play early in the count because he was throwing strikes."
In pitching stats this season Boffin has rung up 19 wins and 5 losses in 34 games. He has an ERA of 3.00 and has fanned 160 batters in 236.2 innings. |
 | Friday, September 20th, 2019: Antslammer Signs for 1 year
The Fairies inked a deal with 36-year-old Andrack Antslammer today signaling that it not only wanted him on the field but in the clubhouse.
Publicly, Andrack Antslammer has spoken highly of Bucklebury, so the extension wasn't a total surprise.
Antslammer will draw $16,550,000 over the next 1 year.
In 32 starts this season Antslammer has rung up a 7-12 record and a 3.58 ERA.
