On top of the Old Forest hit parade today was L. Rhond *Hubbard. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Merry Fellows to a 11-6 victory over the Minas Tirith Titans.
The sweet swinging third baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Titans wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
L. *Hubbard singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season *Hubbard is hitting .369 with 4 home runs. |

Hallalonn Brilhirion pitched a strong game in blanking the Old Forest Merry Fellows 3-0, allowed no runs on 3 hits, totaled 8 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk.
The Erebor manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Brilhirion. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
This year Brilhirion has compiled a 18-8 record with a 3.40 ERA.

Sarkla Elril-gambor of the Moria Miners gave the Merry Fellows a steady diet of fine pitches and she walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. She blanked them 7-0 on 5 hits with a total of 10 strikeouts and no walks.
The Moria manager said, "Elril-gambor was on quite a roll. She gets great late movement, and she doesn't give in to the hitters."
