| Breaking News | | Saturday, May 6th, 2017: 5-Hit Barrage by Hammertwister Lebennin right fielder Kolin Hammertwister put on quite a show at Lords Ballpark with a big 5-hit day in the 24-3 victory over the Hobbiton Halflings.
In the postgame interview, he said with a smile, "Not a bad day at the plate...5-7...wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average...and my salary, too."
K. Hammertwister flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off B. the Squeaker in the 9th.
This season Hammertwister is hitting .328 with 3 home runs. | | Saturday, May 6th, 2017: Mulhall 5-6 for Lords It was a sensational day at the plate for Till Mulhall as he led the charge to a 24-3 win over the Halflings.
The Lebennin right fielder was pure misery for the Hobbiton pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Halflings told SION reporters after the game, "Mulhall put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
T. Mulhall grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off M. Throatcrawler in the 9th.
This season Mulhall has hit at a .289 clip and produced 19 RBIs, 3 home runs and 16 runs scored. | | Sunday, April 2nd, 2017: Halflings Pitching Ravaged by Arwauron It was a big day with the bat for Gredoc Arwauron of the Lebennin Lords at Lords Ballpark as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Hobbiton 7-6.
To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 5 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Arwauron had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Lords had won.
The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.
G. Arwauron singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off B. the Squeaker in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
