Friday, August 18th, 2017: Axehammer 5-6 for Nymphs
If the Long Cleve Ages know how best to pitch the Mount Taras right fielder Foilir Axehammer they didn't tip their hand today. Instead Axehammer showed he knew how best to hit them as he easily handled Ages pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Nymphs to a 17-5 triumph at Nymphs Ballpark.

He told SION reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball."

The Long Cleve skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that...blindfold him...and then pitch him differently, just to be sure."

F. Axehammer singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off G. Echeandia in the 9th.

This season Axehammer is batting .276 with 5 home runs. His totals include 37 RBIs and 69 runs scored.

Tuesday, June 13th, 2017: Anándel Guns down Long Cleve
Anduin hurler Celauhil Anándel was at his best as he whitewashed the Long Cleve Ages 4-0 today.

"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said the Long Cleve manager. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."

Anándel fired a 3-hitter and totaled 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout performance.

In 2017 Anándel has fashioned a 5-5 mark, 3.35 ERA and pitched 104.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .256 against him and he has logged 57 strikeouts.

Monday, June 5th, 2017: EL Names Best Player
Legedur swung a blistering bat last week for the Long Cleve Ages, rapping out 14 hits in 26 at-bats against Long Cleve opponents to propel himself to the Elrond League Player of the Week Award.

Whenever the second baseman hit the ball, he hit it with authority. The 29-year-old racked up a .538 batting average (14-26) with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

This year Legedur has hit at a .500 clip with 15 hits, no home runs, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
