Saturday, May 6th, 2017: 5-Hits Blitz by Harad's Briggs!
Matthew Briggs put on a hitting clinic today as the Wainriders dumped the Wizards 11-3 at Wainriders Ballpark. The Harad right fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing White Mountain pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game.

He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."

M. Briggs hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

For 2017 Briggs is batting .356 with 4 home runs, 28 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

Bogey Morena of the Wizards relied on a sharp eye and a quick bat to outpace all other Elrond League hitters last week and collect the Player of the Week Award.

He hit .552 with 16 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run and 1 RBIs.
