Fragar Dwarftopper of the Greenway Gold Rush was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Dale Crossbowmen with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 4-0 shutout.
In the postgame comments, the Dale skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Greenway hurler had 1 strikeout, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 2 hits in his complete game effort.
Dwarftopper told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."
In 5 starts this season Dwarftopper has fashioned a 2-1 record and a 4.58 ERA.

Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Carl Headstrong of the Angmar Assassins held the Dale Crossbowmen scoreless today. He scattered 2 hits over 9 innings and fanned 5 on his way to the 6-0 victory.

| Saturday, April 15th, 2017: Shieldmaster Belts Bunch of Base Hits
It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-7 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Lor Shieldmaster got one today. He scattered hits all over Assassins Ballpark to pace Angmar to a 9-5 victory over Dale.
The Dale skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Shieldmaster hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
L. Shieldmaster grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 12th and hit a three-run home run off D. of Valinor in the 13th.
Shieldmaster is batting .365 with 3 home runs and 12 RBIs this season.
