| Breaking News | | Sunday, September 8th, 2019: Royals Elfplate Sidelined
Rivendell fans will be disappointed to learn that Mundin Elfplate developed a tender shoulder while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Rivendell Royals manager that Elfplate was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
In 31 starts this season Elfplate has registered a 12-10 record and a 2.44 ERA.

At the age of 31, Dean Shute might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Rivendell first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Shire Conference Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 10 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs last week in 7 games.
Shute is currently hitting at a .225 pace with 23 home runs, 64 RBIs and has scored 49 times.

Misty Mountain first baseman Buffy *Balrog Slayer finished the day with 2 hits in 4 at-bats and 2000 career hits. The Hops also finished off the Royals, 6-5. The 32-year-old *Balrog Slayer added her name to the list of players in the 2000-hit club.
