| Breaking News | | Saturday, May 6th, 2017: Trollhammer Humbles Long Lake
Vinyamar's Foli Trollhammer brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Long Lake Waves 12-0. He racked up 10 strikeouts, surrendered 5 hits and issued 2 walks on his way to the victory.
This season Trollhammer has compiled a 3-1 record with a 2.79 ERA. |
| Monday, April 24th, 2017: BL Star of the Week Honored
Giden Beladrieng must have thought he died and went to heaven this week. First he went on a remarkable batting rampage, hammering the ball at a .455 clip, then the Vinyamar catcher finds outs he has been voted the league's top performer and gets the BL Player of the Week Award.
For the week Beladrieng batted .455 (10-22) with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.
This season Beladrieng has delivered 20 hits in 71 at-bats for a .282 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .316 clip and his totals also include 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored. This year Beladrieng has played in 18 games.

 | Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016: Hot Hitter! Shieldmaster Blisters Vinyamar!
It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-6 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Lor Shieldmaster got one today. He scattered hits all over Methedras Grounds to pace Methedras to a 11-5 victory over Vinyamar.
The Vinyamar skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Shieldmaster hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
L. Shieldmaster grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
Presently Shieldmaster is batting .253 with 10 home runs and 63 RBIs. He has played in 97 games and scored 67 times.
