Friday, April 14th, 2017: Bugsmasher Spins Shutout Against Mount Doom
Kolak Bugsmasher was dynamite today and just blew Mount Doom away in the 9-0 victory. The Lhun Attics starter had everything working as he hurled a 5-hit shutout over the Merrymen, recording 10 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"He was pure nasty out there today. I don't think any team in the would've had a chance against what he was bringing," said the Mount Doom skipper during his postgame press conference.

Monday, July 11th, 2016: Hard to Handle Hitter Wins BL Honor
Today the Balin League announced its Player of the Week Award winner -- Mount Doom Merrymen right fielder Sarklla Táthien, who batted .515 (17-33) with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

So far this year Táthien is batting .330 with 2 home runs, 34 RBIs and 51 runs scored.

At Merrymen Ballpark Sarklla Táthien was the King of Swing today in the 9-6 win over the Knights.

The Mount Doom right fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Nisimaldor and delivered 5 hits.

It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. Unbelieveable. It felt good. It felt great. What a day! 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too."

S. Táthien singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off L. Rockdelver in the 8th.

Táthien is hitting .328 in 2016 with 34 RBIs and 2 home runs.
