| Breaking News | | Monday, September 4th, 2017: Herders KO's Manglers The Mittalmar Herders concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the SGCBL Double A League Championship Series. They nailed it down at Herders Ballpark by whipping the Methedras Manglers 11-4 to win it all. They took the series 4-2.
Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".
"They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season," the Herders manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."
To get their 1st league crown, the Herders finished up the regular season in the Durin League Division 1 with a 74-46 record, ending up in first place in the division standings. | | Thursday, August 31st, 2017: Mittalmar Blanks Manglers After his 2-0 shutout win against the Manglers, Kesil Ironbane said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."
They were better than good as the Herders pitcher put up 7 strikeouts, surrendered 1 walk, allowed 3 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
In 21 starts this season Ironbane has crafted a 15-4 record with a 2.36 ERA. | | Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017: Bramble Pitches Gem against Old Ford In an impressive outing, Ferdibrand Bramble whitewashed the Old Ford Otters 3-0.
"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Bramble, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.
"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."
The Mittalmar hurler held Old Ford scoreless, allowed 2 hits, chalked up 11 strikeouts and yielded 1 walk.
Bramble has made 18 starts, tossed 101 innings, struck out 126 batters and walked 40. His record is 7-3 with a 4.01 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .259 batting average. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 74-46, .617 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 43-17, .717 PCT | | Record on the road | 31-29, .517 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 4-2, .667 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 15-10, .600 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 14-10, .583 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 60-36, .625 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in May | 20-9, .690 PCT | | Record in June | 15-10, .600 PCT | | Record in July | 20-9, .690 PCT | | Record in August | 6-3, .667 PCT |
