Gundabald Sandybanks of the Tuna Casseroles cruised to Frodo League Player of the Week honors after putting together one of the finest stretches in his career last week.
The left fielder batted .520 (13-25) with no home runs, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
Thus far in 2017 Sandybanks is hitting .322 with 3 home runs, 66 RBIs, 50 runs scored and has compiled a .368 OBP.

| Saturday, July 8th, 2017: Gorind Sizzles! Smokes Lightning for 5 Hits!
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Farauron Gorind -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and really shined on the diamond at Casseroles Ballpark, but the performance lost a little glitter when the Casseroles were downed 4-3 by the Langflood Lightning.
After his sparkling batting performance the Tuna second baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His batting theory paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too."
F. Gorind singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off W. Trull in the 10th.
This season Gorind is batting .333 with 2 home runs.

It's official. SION writers have voted Denise Brownlock of the Tuna Casseroles the Frodo League Batter of the Month award for June.
During the month he recorded a .535 average with 1 home run, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
In this current campaign Brownlock is hitting at a .403 clip with 3 home runs and 55 RBIs.
