Rabid Slayden told the press after his 6-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Slayden of the Hobbiton Howlers did against the Belfalas Bounty. He went to the plate 6 times and 6 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Bounty, who suffered a 15-4 defeat.
"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."
R. Slayden singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off M. Land in the 8th.
So far this season Slayden has hit .306 with 9 home runs, 51 RBIs and and scored 57 times.

| Friday, July 28th, 2017: Slayden Touches All the Bases, Hits Cycle
The Hobbiton fans had a lot to cheer about today as Rabid Slayden hit for the cycle en route to a 15-4 victory over the Belfalas Bounty. The 31-year-old first baseman led the way with 3 runs batted in and 6 hits.
This year Slayden has hit at a .306 clip with 51 RBIs, 9 home runs and 57 runs scored.

| Wednesday, July 26th, 2017: Howlers Shut Out Bounty
Celeadoc Elvadrielad of the Hobbiton Howlers was on fire against Belfalas. He shut them down 1-0 on 4 hits and no runs with 4 strikeouts and no walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Elvadrielad said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
To date this year in 19 starts, Elvadrielad has crafted a 11-5 mark with a 3.12 ERA.
